Stand Mixer Advice

I adore my kitchen aid. If you are going to do heavier bread doughs etc, don't go with the cheapest model. Go with a higher wattage, bigger motor. You don't need the biggest and best , but something mid range. I would be more specific lol, but I really don't know alot about them except that I love it. My SIL is a pastry chef and bakes alot at home. She sent me what a link to what I needed and I ordered.

Yet another vote for Kitchen Aid!
After wanting for many years, seriously looking for 2 years, I have owned one for about a year. I LOVE IT!!
We decided to go with the Profession HD because I make bread & pizza crust at least once a week. And I need to be able to do double batches of cookies! I use it way more than I even thought I would.
We got mine at Sams for $250.

KitchenAid. Mine is 13 years old and going strong. LOVE it! Worth every penny and I use it almost daily.

We recently bought a Hobart KitchenAid 3-C (the 50's 4 qt. version with the Pyrex bowl) off of Ebay for $25. With shipping it was about $45. My mother still has her's from 1955 and uses it quite often with no issues at all. She gave us her meat grinder attachment and it ground through 7 lbs. of meat like nobody's business. It only has the universal beater and not a bread hook, but I have a bread machine so I don't use it for bread dough anyway. Anyway, don't be afraid to look for an older model on Ebay or Craigslist. The older ones made from all metal last forever. My husband took ours apart to clean and lubricate it and he was very impressed with how solid and well made it was for being 55 years old and the gear tolerances were still very tight.

Another vote for KitchenAid. The only negative is I just don't like that I have to leave it on the counter and use up precious space.

Kitchen Aid

Definitely get the one w/ the lifting bowl as opposed to the one w/ the top that flips back.

The lifting bowl allows you to leave the mixer at the back of the countertop and not have to pull it forward to use because of any cabinets above it!

LOVE my KA!

Wow!!! Thanks everyone! I can't believe everyone said Kitchen Aid. That's amazing. I guess that means it's well recommended and loved. It makes it easier for me to narrow down my search. I appreciate the suggestions on where to buy and will check those out. Thanks so much everyone! I appreciate it!

I bought my Kitchenaid last year from BB&B. Used the 20% coupon. At the time I bought mine, they also had an attachment rebate. I think was either the meat grinder or slicer/shredder. I got the slicer shredder for free just for buying the mixer. I think it was probably a Mother's Day or sping promotion because I bought it in April around my birthday.

Watch for a Kohl's sale with the $10 back for every $50 you spend. I have gotten some great deals that way.

One more vote for Kitchenaid. I got the basic white one a few years ago and love it! I mainly use the wisk attachment. I got mine from Amazon.

I was going to say Oster just to mess with the thread... but a Kitchen-Aid is the way to go. I've had mine for about 10 years. Does what it's supposed to do and works as well today as the day I bought it.
