Does anyone here do it yourself?

It seems like a really interesting idea but I don't know how hard it would be to actually make it.

Anyone?

Do you have an example of what you would like to do? I stamp, but have never done jewelry. I know some people who have, but I'm not sure if they do what you are looking to do.

I've done a bit of my own. I would say the biggest thing is lots of practice. You'll need to learn just how to position your stamps, spacing, and the pressure to hammer it with. You should get some cheaper materials to practice on before trying to stamp on something you'd want to keep and wear.

Etsy is a good place to find blanks to practice on. I can't remember where exactly I got my metal stamps, but if you do a web search for them, you can find several sets. There are some inexpensive sets that are just letters and basic symbols. Etsy would be a good place to find more ornate stamps like the baby feet in the example you linked.

Good luck!

I'm glad I asked, it wasn't what I was thinking, although I do know someone who has done this. It isn't really too hard. She learned just by watching some videos on youtube and she got some tips from a local jewelry supply store where she gets her supplies at. She has gotten some supplies from Michaels, but does like going to the jewelry supply store since they know what they are doing and can help her out when she has a question.

I am going to have to research more. I am not finding supplies very easily. The ones I am finding are all pricey and not something to practice on.

Goodness. I guess I didn't think $4.00 plus $2.25 per disc was a "practice" disc.

As the others have pointed out, that's for a set of 20 of them. Even adding in the shipping, it comes out to about 31 cents per disc. Much better that messing up a $6 silver blank! :)

You could also try http://www.etsy.com/listing/8189790...=US&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade - they would come out to about 6 cents per disc (including shipping), but they're so small that you wouldn't get much room for practicing spacing.
