Stamp prices????

When do stamp prices go up?? I know it is sometime in January but what day? I am too lazy to look up the postal service on the computer.

The end of the semester was horrible just because of this Those of us applying to graduate school in January had to make sure that all the faculty recommendation letters were appropriately stamped before we left the area. We had to go to the post office (a nice drive away) and find the correct stamps during finals week. Biggest pain in the butt

The Postal Rate Commission won't let us. THey say we have to only ask for exactly what we think we need for the time of that rate. No upping the amount for ease. The big bulk mailers also don't like that idea either.
Also, the rate increase isn't even for our needs. It is being caused by some federal mandate of some payment (forget for what). One of those where some new ruling or law was put into effect.

BTW, this is an across the board increase. Even the foreign is going up this time. Did you know it has been many years since they went up? They didn't go up the last two times.
