Stalking DISers.... continue here

Sonya... noticed your 2/2008 surprise trip for the girls. How did you manage to fool them twice??? You know they will expect WDW from here on out, right?

How does the free dining work exactly? Can I do it with room only, or only with packages?

Free Dining is only available with packages. To make a package you only have to buy 1 day tickets.

Mine and Paul's birthdays are 1 day apart...mine 2/29 & his on 3/1...this year we turned 40. Well, when the special for Jan & Feb came out in Nov we decided that we wanted to celebrate OUR birthdays at WDW. Since Amanda would have to miss 2 days school because she was mmmm "sick" we didn't want to tell them in advance because we didn't know if she could keep it a secret from school. So I secretly packed again and we woke them up at 3:30 on 2/28 and headed to the airport!! We have told them that the next trip would not be a surprise but that's what we told them after the last trip...:rotfl: :rotfl: If we decide to go in early December this year we will tell them.

Renee... I did the personalized menus... they were great. I sent Debbie an email with the photos about 2 weeks prior to our trip along with our confirmation number, time, etc... also gave her some information about those in the photos... they were great.....

Maggie is doing well... up and just about back to full speed.... we are getting excited... only six days.... so much to do.... we both had the hair highlighted this week.... had the nails done... etc... now the packing has to start.... I have a crazy busy week so I am hoping that we can work on it tonight a little as today is my only day off of work until we leave on Friday...

FREE DINING... I heard it was going to come out to Disney VISA card members first... it will probably happen while we are in Disney and I will miss it.... oh well.... I am thinking a quick weekend trip with Maggie as our annual passess don't expire until November... depends on how long free dining will be....

I'm glad Maggie is doing well...it sounds like you both had a fun week with all of the pampering!! Wow, only 6 more days!!

From what I have heard Free Dining will come out to Disney Visa card holders on Monday and then to the general public later in the week. Dates are rumored to be 8/24 - 9/20...I guess we'll have to wait until Monday to see if it's all true.

I was considering WDW instead of Sea World if the free dining would work, but it looks like we will miss it by 2 weeks if the dates are correct. :guilty: Just as well, though... I think I have a good plan worked out! Kinda looking forward to doing something other than the parks at WDW this time.

Who's Debbie?! I want to do this for Dana at Rose & Crown.. just not sure what I'm supposed to do/ who to call... :confused3

Glad to hear Maggie is feeling better - she will enjoy her trip! And YOU deserve it, too! Moms go through a LOT of stress!!!!

Even if we didn't stay at the Dolphin, I could never deal with that Free Dining! Too much work to just EAT. LOL LOL :lmao:

You will have fun at Sea World...my girls LOVED the Dolphin Nursery, I think they could have stayed there all day long!! Are you planning to do the Dine with Shamu meal? We did that & it was a lot of fun.

Renee - I may be wrong but I think Debbie only works for the Coral Reef. I emailed her before our last trip and she had menus waiting for us with Happy Birthday to me and Paul and then one from Ariel to our girls telling them to have a good trip.

The kids have been asking to go to Sea World for about 2 years. I could never justify the money... $200 for a day at Sea World versus $10 to add another day in WDW with the length of our stays.

I have seen the ads for Dine with Shamu, but it would be $136 for my family to do it, so I think we will pass. We are going to *hopefully* T-Rex Cafe in DTD that night, so lunch will probably be a light fare. Money will be tight in order to do everything we want to do that week, anyway.

Kari I don't know if they are still doing this but last year we were able to get the price of kid tickets for everyone in the party, we just had to order them online and print them at home.

They are, I just looked. You can buy one day and get the second day free.

As Mandy said, check online. I remember getting a pretty good deal two years ago.

that being said - I HATED SeaWorld as much as I did 25 years ago. :headache: When we were kids, we spent a horrificly hot August day in SeaWorld, and we have the funniest picture to prove it - four kids TOTALLY MISERABLE. I tried to forgot the terrible memories, and we went because Dana wanted to go so badly. Well... we picked the HOTTEST DAY IN JUNE, and every darn show is in DIRECT SUN, on METAL BLEACHERS. And, the schedule is nuts - you are crisscrossing the park the entire time.

We left early and headed to the Dolphin's Grotto pool, and I called my sister and said, "Just wanted to let you know that 25 years later, SeaWorld is still TOO DAMN HOT!""
lol

:lmao: I will agree about Seaworld being to hot, it's all the asphalt and then the vegetation, it's as bad as AK some days.

Can I just say I'm excited to test my camera out in Disney and get some awesome firework pictures this year. I'm bringing my laptop so I'll find a way to get the internet that the Contemporary has and get my pictures up online as I go each day.

I think going in October should be a plus... both crowds and heat-wise. The child rate is $57.95, so my family is $232 for the day. :scared1: We won't be able to use the 2nd day, because we will be going on our cruise. Wish they would just discount the 1 day ticket a little more... I think I can do better through AAA, but haven't checked yet.

Mandy... that will be cool seeing your WDW pics as you go. Can I just say again... I'M JEALOUS!!!

Well, we went to Sea World in January so it was very pleasant...now I do agree about the schedule and criss crossing the park...they need to work on that!

Hey Wendy... Are you going to DTD any on your trip? If so, could you take a couple of pics of T-Rex Cafe and post? I am dying to see how it is coming along, and if they have a projected opening date yet. Last I heard was still Fall 2008.

I want to go to Aquatica but it's not worth the money and it's not as cool as they advertised.

Kari.... we are planning on going to DTD one day... at least thats the plan... if we do get there I will be sure to take some photos.... by the way your pin is on the way.... put it in the mail on Saturday..... I hope he likes it..... anyone else need anything while I am there next week......

If you see a "Madame Alexander" Tinkerbell doll, will you jot down the price and location? Dana swears she saw one last year - can't remember where - and really would like one. I told her we would look in June, but I don't want it to become the focus of the trip. lol :goodvibes

Don't go out of your way looking - just in case you are in a shop with dolls, glance over if you have time. lol Thanks, Wendy!
