Staking my claim... Fireworks Viewing

You can get a good viewing of the Wishes fireworks from some of the resorts and there are not crowds.

Totally hit or miss, but if it rains an hour or so before HEA, that’s the night you can walk up minutes ahead of the start time and still get a great view.
Ha! I was literally just thinking about this a little while ago while cooking dinner and contemplating my strategy for staking out a spot for HEA. I saw it last December in an absolute crush of humanity (one of the few non-party nights of the week). We had a pretty good view, but the crowd was overwhelming even to me and I don't mind crowds. A well-timed thunderstorm rolling through about an hour before fireworks would be nice.

I have to tell you that I was so bummed over the weather forecast for the week of my trip. They were talking tropical depression, and my two previous trips were impacted by Hurricanes Matthew and Irma. I just couldn’t believe my luck.

Over the weekend I was there, it rained a lot. Saturday had many heavy storms rolling through. That night was so damp and windy, it was flat-out cold.

Sunday was another rainy day and I think that kept the locals away. We went to MK that evening and walked on to a bunch of attractions. An hour or so before HEA, it poured. I was on Splash Mountain with my sister-in-law and our log got stuck in a jam. We got drenched. It was too much water for the ponchos.

But after that downpour, the rain cleared up. Warm in our damp ponchos, we took a Dole Whip break then walked right up to a premium spot in the hub to see HEA.

After the show, we rode 7 Dwarves twice in a row as walk-ups. We went on Pooh and then stood in the middle of Main Street and saw Once Upon a Time.

It was one of the most productive nights I ever spent at MK—a big silver lining to a whole bunch of storm clouds. :)
