Hi everyone,
I haven't ridden GRR in many years. I seem to remember stairs to and from the raft loading area. What is the procedure for guests who cannot do lots of stairs?

Thanks!

Will you be getting a DAS card or will you have a wheelchair or ECV? If you get a DAS card then you would tell them you can't do stairs and they will re-direct you. If you have a wheelchair or ECV you wait in the regular line until almost the end and there is a handicap entrance and special loading area.

I am not familiar with the DAS at DLR. I just have the mobility issues (which does not qualify me for DAS at WDW). I can wait in the line, but cannot do stairs. One stair up or down a curb for example is okay, but a flight of stairs, no way. So it sounds like I do the regular entrance and then tell the CM I cannot do the stairs?

Yes. I guess that would work. I know at Grizzly though there is no CM until you get up and down the stairs, so you may need to tell someone before you enter the line.

I am also able to wait in lines but have difficulty doing stairs. No, they will not give the DAS card to you. (Although I think that's connected to your ticket now). What I do at rides with stairs is that I ask the person at the beginning of the line for a return time explaining quickly that I can't do stairs and they will give you one based on the wait time - 10 minutes. You may only have one return time on your card at a time.

Where do I get the card you mention? Do they give me a card with the wait time on it?

You are NOT able to use DAS with a mobility issue like the one you described. Ask for a return time and they will add it to your admission ticket by using a scanner.

I did know I wasn't getting a DAS. I wasn't asking for a DAS. Just was uncertain about the "card" mentioned in the above post. Thank you for the clarification about adding the wait time to my ticket. I hope they can add it to my annual pass.

Yes they can. They scan the bar code and tell you what time to return. When you return they scan it again and you go in usually through the exit. You can only have one return time at a time.

I use an ECV and use return times with my AP all the time!

Great! Thanks!

I did GGR last Saturday. I spoke to a CM at the entrance. I did not need a return time. The stairs are at the exit of the ride so I could go through the mainstreamed line and then tell the loader CM after exiting the raft that I could not do the stairs. They then stopped the moving platform and escorted me to the ramp exit. Easy Peasy.

Also stairs when exiting RSR. When I went with my sisters 3 years ago, we went through the regular line, then told the CM who assigns cars that we couldn't do the stairs at the end. We were directed to the handicapped line. You have to know the particular rides queuing area to know where to ask about avoiding stairs. Stairs are just before you load at Big Thunder Mountain.

Just before the stairs there is a gate to the right. It has a handicap sign on it. Go thru there and join that line. The raft will depart and arrive there and there are no stairs involved. No DAS or return time needed.

Since this is my favorite ride and I had a kid in a wheelchair without a DAS the last time we went, I can confirm the previous poster is correct. THat is exactly what you do.
