Good afternoon everyone :wave2:

Some friends were talking last night about organising a 'stag & hen' party for Gavin & Myself, we are going to elope while in Florida therefore no big wedding bash so against our better judgment we have given the green light on having a stag & hen party before we go.

The main problem is neither of us are really into the getting wrecked  at Blackpool scene so want it to be a bit more special than that but obviously funds are not unlimited so to my point... What (if anthing) did you do on yours or have done on others?

I think we will be looking at a weekend away somewhere, probably Fri sept 01st to Sun Sept 03rd.

I have already looked at DLRP but works out too expensive to fly & with limited time I wouldnt want to drive.

HELP!

Jodie, everyone seems to have moved to Dublin for hen and stag nights.
What about an activity weekend if there is a mixed crowd, head up to Glasgow or Edinburgh (not bias of course ;) ), is there a place that Gavin and you have always fancied going to as perhaps you could turn this into a hen/stag trip

I went to Bristol for my hen night - there were 13 of us and we had a colour theme, went for a meal and to Jongleurs and then stayed in a hotel overnight. We had a great time despite the fact that I didn't really want a hen do.

So, am I understanding correctly that you are going to get married while you're in Florida this year?

I'm going to a hen night in May and one next month in Berlin :thumbsup2It seems to be the trend to go away for weekends, have some nice meals, drinks and a good time. Rather than go for one evening and getting blind, stinking drunk :teeth:

Yeap :bride: :groom: We are going to the courthouse to buy a license then returning asap to get married. Simple and perfect for us :goodvibes

This why we have relented on the stag/hen party idea so that are friends/family can have some input into something.

It is very unlikely we will be having a joint do' - Many of Gavin's long married friends are looking forward to a weekend without any female's (a few of them really are 'Me Tarzan You Jane') and as this part of the process is more for our friends than us we are going to go with the flow....

Gavin seems to be aiming for a weekend in London, he wants a day at the races then hopefully a sports match the next day.

I have ordered a brochure for centreparcs so we shall see what people think of that.

My mam has just suggested a mystery weekend, anybody else tried this?

I have looked around and they seem to be fairly popular.

My SIL isn't into the whole going out getting drunk thing either so for her hen do in December we went to a health spa for the night. We went to the Belfry in Birmingham (the golf place) where we had a really nice meal, then went to the on site club for a while for a dance. Then the next day we were booked into the spa for a few hours where we had a few treatments and relaxed in the various relaxation rooms.
We had a great time.

I am unsure about a Spa weekend, I dont think I can sit still for that long! But a bit of information wouldnt hurt as it will come down to a majority vote in the end so I am going to look into this a bit more, Thanks.
