Thankfully the trip got better than it started. I got hooked up Friday and went to get DD from school when a hitch problem happened. I have a 5th Wheel and I bought the Pullrite Auto Slider Hitch after reviewing threads from "happy users". Well the actuator plate that goes between the camper and hitch which bolts on with 4 cheesy bolts broke. All 4 bolts broke so I had to go buy more and luckily bought a few extras in case it happened again. Well got to Palm Coast and they snapped again. Unhooked and had to replace them again. It only happens upon turning sharp right. Anyway it never happened again on the trip. The dealer is going to inspect it Wed. to see what the problem is. It never posed a safety problem as it only makes the trailer slide back and forth but it was a big PITA to take time fixing it. Oh and since the trailer didn't move back forward when it was supposed to it hit my tailgate and dented it pretty good. Most likely going to have to replace it.

Got right thru check-in (very nice CM) and got site 1011. That site was awesome for us as the size is perfect. Hooked every thing up and caught a bus to Epcot for EMH. We had time for Test Track and Soarin. We took my niece who has only been to MK back in August with us. Needless to say she was impressed by the 2 rides we got to go on. The buses worked good both ways.

Saturday was a hang out day as I knew MK was open til Midnight and I didn't feel like fighting crowds. Actually I thought EMH was from 9-12 but it was normal hours. The beautiful part was people were walking out in droves when we arrived. That is a beautiful site seeing the park emptying out lol. We rode Haunted Mansion (got to see the new additions added during refurbishment), P of C and Splash Mountain. Also rode Astro Orbiter after going to Disney over a 100 times lol. It goes so fast you can't see a thing. I see now why I didn't wait all those years lol. We went to Boma at AKL for dinner before the MK as well. That food is so good. We had no ressie and we waited 1.5 hours. I don't know what I was thinking. Note to self: Make ressies in the future.

Sunday we went to AK. Got there around 11:00 after a bus ride that was rememberable. The driver should have considered Formula 1. I felt like we got a bonus ride before the park lol.

We rode Everest and Dinosour then saw the Nemo Musical. Got to go on Tough to be a bug as well. Went over to the safari but it was way too long a wait. As we were leaving we ran into Miss Sundee and her sister who was visiting from PA. She was just as nice as Sundee. I asked her if she knew her sis was a celebrity and she laughed saying she was kinda figuring that out.

After going back to the camper for a break we headed over to MGM. I drove the cart to the Outpost and after sitting there a few minutes DD said I think the bus stop for MGM is at the Settlement. I had forgotten that so off we went. The bus pulled up as we did so that was lucky. We were able to ride Tower of Terror twice in a row then Rock N Roller Coaster. We decided to eat at Sci-Fi (great Rueben Sandwich) and then did the great movie ride. The park was closing as we came out so that was the end of the parks.

Like everyone else we hated pulling out today even though we go back Thanksgiving weekend. We got to see the famous Mouse-Ke-Tab as well. We talked with Carol who was very busy entertaining lol. Got to meet Bob and Bruce as well as Piglet and her husband. Always nice to meet Dis'ers.

Hopefully I haven't gotten too informative with my post lol.

Sounds like a nice time. Hope you can get your trailor problems fixed before your next trip.

I want to hear more about your golf cart.

Sorry about the rough start. :sad2:

Yeah...the trip is getting better. :)

How far is AKL from AK ?? We were considering going to Boma next time we are there.

Sounds great...it sounds like EMH is the way to go :thumbsup2

Not at all....I love a good trip report

You are supposed to have way more than 4 bolts in there, I think there are supposed to be 8 or 10. You, like many others, have been given less than ideal from your installer. They took a shortcut. All of the holes that are in the plate should be drilled and tapped into your pinbox. If your pinbox is such that you cannot get 8 or 10 bolts in, pullright makes a bracket to add more surface for more bolts. I think the brackets are no drill, or at least easy install.

Call them and talk to them about it. They are very helpfull and will bend over backwards to help you. I was having release problems and they quickly shipped me a bag full of parts to change out with no charge.

I was one of those "happy users" of the SuperGlide that gave a recommendation when you were considering it. And as Cdash said, you shoule have at least 8 bolts in that plate to make sure what happened to you does'nt happen.

I know I have heard of some SuperGlide users tack welding the plate onto their pinbox. I didn't want to do that because if I ever needed to leave the camper for service somewhere, I would either have to leave the truck, or remove the plate.

I hope you get this resolved and your faith is again restored in the product.

Gatordad, the cart is not much. It's just a 97 Club Car that is stock. I'm getting tail lights on today as it only had headlights. Actually the headlight switch didn't work while we were at the fort so I was without lights. I drove it at night from the Settlement to the 1000 loop in the dark. I had my nightvision goggles on and had I been stopped by FW Security I was going to let them know I was in search of Peacocks. I drove slow though and there was good light to get back on however I wouldn't make a habit of it. I plan on putting a rear seat on soon and do something hear and there to it until it looks like your's lol.:lmao:

As far as the hitch goes I talked to the previous owner who said the same thing about the 8 bolts minimum. It has 4 bolts on the back that should have been drilled and tapped during installation. I spoke with the guy who put it in this morning and he is coming over tomorrow to do the extra holes and make sure no other problems exist. He's a reputable guy and does just about all the hitches for the local RV dealers around here. I'm sure he'll get it taken care of. He charged me $250 to install the thing so I doubt he's going to pay for my damages. At this point I just want to get the thing working correctly again. It mainly damaged the top of the tailgate on the inside so a new plastic cap should cover it up. He does spray in liners as well and did offer to do the tailgate for free when I do the bed so at least he's trying to make it right. I'll post how it works out.

Much better than mine, the response I got was: "We drilled all the bolts that would fit!" I told them about the extension plate that was available to solve this problem, their reply: "We installed all the parts that came with it!"

At that point I figured that my hour of fixing it was better than the hour I would hav spent arguing with them over it. At least I figured it out before mine snapped.

I am glad you guy is taking care of it!!

Sorry to hear about your problems starting out...but it sounds like you guys had a great time while you were there! :goodvibes

Hey, you can always strap lantern flashlights to the front of the cart like my DH did when our lights went out once. However, the Disney security guys aren't as understanding of makeshift lights!:rotfl: Hope everything goes well on your repair of the bumper and hitch. I know it must have been a real PITA.

Great Report!! It was a blast meeting you!! Thanks for stopping by!!!! Your daughter and niece are very sweet little girls!!
