Stacking Genie+ attractions for late arrival

Is it true that Disneyland will not allow you to reserve Genie+ attractions until you are physically in the park?

One of the cool features at WDW is creating a stack of reservations throughout the morning on a late arrival day.

We’ll be driving in from Yosemite on our first park day next Spring and was hoping to snag some good ones in advance.

It is true, you can only reserve if you have actually entered the park.

Yes, you can reserve from an offsite location, but only once you've at least scanned into either park.

but as mentioned above, once you've scanned in for the day you can continue to book Genie+ attractions even if you go back to your room for a rest, so don't snooze on that ;-)

Does anyone know if at the monorail entrance you are scanned in and can book Genie+ immediately? I’m wondering if technically our group can scan in there, start booking Genie+ and then go back to the hotel without actually getting on the monorail and going into the park. We are wanting to hang out at the Disneyland Hotel that morning instead of going to the park, but would like to stack Genie+ reservations for later in the day.

Yes each of you would first need to scan in to the Park.

Whoever has scanned in can book for themselves. So if only 2 of the 4 have scanned in, those 2 can book LLs for themselves, but not for the others in the party until they scan in themselves.

Yes, I've scanned in at monorail, immediately turned right and exited back out, and then start booking your LL!
