St Thomas - Time for beach on Godfrey's tour?

Hi!
We have booked Godfrey as our tour guide when we are in St. Thomas on our Disney Magic cruise. However, I noticed the ship leaves at 4:45pm. If we decide to do the beach part of the tour, Godfrey will pick us up at 4pm. This seems awfully close to the ship's departure time. Has anyone else taken this tour and gone to the beach? Or do you just do the shopping and tour around St. Thomas, and then head back to the ship at 2pm?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

That is cutting it VERY close! The traffic in St. Thomas after 2:00 gets pretty hairy. We left Coral World around 2:00 and it took us about 45-50 minutes to get to the port. If there are several ships at port, think about thousands of people trying to get to one little area at the same time.

Thanks for the info, Phyllis! I thought it was cutting it very close too so that's why we've actually arranged to come back to the ship at 2pm. However, the beaches sounded so sensational, I wondered if there was any way we could squeeze in a beach. I guess we'll just have to go back to St. Thomas another time!

Thanks again!

I don't know what Godfrey's tour is, but I would definitely lean towards doing a day at the beach in St. Thomas than touring the island. The beaches and snorkeling there are great -- St. John's is rates as one of the best in the world.

I'm kind of wondering about that myself, Phyllis! Godfrey is a man who runs a tour in St. Thomas who I've heard wonderful things about. He picks you up at the pier, takes you shopping until 12pm, takes you on a tour in an open safari bus until 2pm, and then drops you off at a beach (either Coki, Sapphire and Megans I think) and picks you up at 4pm.

However, reading about the beaches makes me wonder if we should skip the tour and just go to the beach. Thanks for your input though, I appreciate it!

Just noticed you have written up a trip report so I'll be looking at that too!

Thanks again!
