St. Petersburg airport?

What's the airport like in St. Petersburg, would you recommend it? I am trying to get a direct flight from Harrisburg or Allentown to Florida and the flights that go to Sanford on the day I need leaves too late, getting me there early evening. I could fly into St. Petersburg and get there by 2:30 which would be good. Thanks for any advice.

It's almost two hours from the St. Pete airport to WDW, as opposed to 30 minutes for MCO, not taking into account the potential for terrible traffic on I-4.

Keep that in mind while making your decision.

It is a small airport that has few amenities like Tampa. If you can get to either Tampa or Sanford, you would be better served.
