Do you do anything to celebrate on St. Patrick's Day? We live on the parade route of the St. Patrick's Day parade in South Boston so we basically don't have a choice, but we don't mind. We have family and friends over and eat and drink all day. What about you?

Generally no. A couple years ago when it was on a Saturday, we tried getting into an Irish bar, but it was alredy filled to capacity by like 2:00pm, so we just ended up at another bar with some friends. With it being a Monday this year, Im sure it will be just another day.

Not that either of us are Irish, but we did go out for a green beer together -- our first date!! -- 17 years ago on St. Patrick's Day. So, we don't celebrate for the same reason many others do. It's more of an anniversary of sorts. Now, I make a traditional Irish St. Pat's day dinner -- corned beef, cabbage, boiled potatoes, rye bread. It's always DH's favorite -- the kids won't eat any of it. But, I do make green milk for them and they like that!:)

I drink Irish Beer, and make corned beef and cabbage.;)

I celebrate because it's my birthday...does that make me an horonary Irishwoman?!

Always make corned beef and cabbage!:D When I was a kid we would go to the parade in So. Boston.

What other way to celebrate in New Orleans but with a parade.

We're going to parades on Saturday and another on Sunday. And we're going to a parade the following Sunday for St. Joseph's day.

At these parades, the float riders throw heads of cabbage, potatoes, onions, carrots, etc., in addition to beads and trinkets, so on Monday night we'll make a stew with all the veggies we catch.

Usually go to one of the pubs in town and drink a couple of pints of the Black Stuff :D

I treid going to the clubs in Boston on my birthday one year - OH SO not worth it unless you like standing in lines in the cold!
