St. Maarten Rhino Rider

We are about to finalize our excursion plans for our 10-day Christmas Cruise. Has anyone had experience (good or bad) with the Rhino Rider excursion on St. Maarten through the DCL? Pros and cons of early vs later time?

I responed to your St. Thomas thread as well...DH and I like to travel in herds...and when we went on our cruise in July, we traveled with 3 other couples...1 other couple did this excursion, and said that it was fabulous as well.

My sisters did this in July and absolutely loved it. I tried booking it through DCL for the 10 day Christmas cruise and twice they told me it was booked. I went through shore trips and booked, it was cheaper.

My husband and I did this when we were on a Celebrity cruise. We booked it independently (they have a web site, I think).

DH LOVED it, and I liked it a lot. It was very fast (for him), but felt pretty safe (for me). I did fall off the seat onto the back of the rhino and gave my tailbone a good crack. I felt that for days, let me tell you...

Make sure to have your sunglasses on a string--those things do move!

My DH and I did this back in May 2003 and really loved it! We took turns driving the boat and it was a blast for both of us. I would definitely do it again!!!!!
