Has anyone done the Beach Escape in St. Johns, Antigua or the Catamaran Fantasea in St. Kitts? Looking for feedback on either of these excursions (both are through Disney).

We just did the catamaran in st. Kitts last month. The crew on the boat was great, and we enjoyed the day, but it turned into a booze cruise. The alcohol was flowing and most of the guests on the boat were partaking. We watched one dad and son drink 16 beers each - it was quite the show. We enjoyed the snorkeling and visiting the beach in Nevis. We did not care for the lunch served, it was funny colored hot dogs. We just ate when we got back on the fantasy.

We would do the excursion again, but just hope for a calmer set of fellow cruisers! It did end up being quite the entertaining day!

We just did the beach escape in Antigua this November. The beach is beautiful white sand and the ocean is calm and warm and pleasant for swimming. That’s the best thing I can say. We were crammed into the transport vans and were uncomfortable. As soon as you sit down on the chaise, a staff member approaches and says, politely, that if you want to keep your umbrella it will be $10. We were approached nonstop by people who wanted to sell us jet ski rides and souvenirs. They would sit down on our chairs while they attempted to bargain with us. It was just not relaxing. The lunch was okay and the rum punch tasty. On the day we were there, there were no sinks with running water where you could wash your hands. Some folks on our cruise just took cabs to Jolly Beach and had a good time for less money.

We did Starfish Jolly Beach Resort in Antigua about a month ago. It's all inclusive so alcoholic drinks and food is included. You get pools and beach. Since it was a resort, they had a police truck on the beach that kept the roving beach vendor guys in check as well. They also had little hut/store vendors on the beach. You can book it through Resort for a Day. We usually use Resort for a Day when doing excursions because you can get the same DCL excursions but half the price, not held up by slowest member of the heard, no getting on buses and no meeting in theater or whatever.

Not what you are asking, but...

On St. Kitt's we went to Carambola Beach club. Reserved chairs ahead of time. The beach was lovely, we had a good time.
Only complaint was that service at the restaurant was SLOW!

Thanks for the feedback...not sure a day of being hassled by vendors is what we were looking for.

We would hate that also. I am pestered in my normal life enough that I don’t want it on vacation

We did the Fantasea excursion in St Kitts in October. Loved it. The group walked in a line over to the catamaran dock and were directed onto two similar boats when we arrived. First half of the line to the first boat, second half to the second. Ours was the second boat. I didn’t notice any particularly rowdy drinkers on our boat. There was plenty of rum punch and beer to be had after the snorkeling though. The lunch was pretty much what was advertised in the fine print of the excursion listing. Ours was served right after snorkeling, before we set sail again for the Nevis stop. It was the oddly light coloured hot dogs (probably chicken ones?), Creole roasted chicken, a couple of salads, rum cake for dessert. It was nice enough to satisfy our need for a bite to eat for lunch. The catamaran itself was great with plenty of room to sit either under cover or out on the front area in the sun. There were decent bathrooms too, separate men’s and women’s. The crew was amazing, friendly and helpful, and the fun atmosphere, with sunshine and music and people enjoying their Caribbean outing, made it a wonderful experience I would happily do again.
