On our last DC, we took the ferry to St. John and went to Trunk Bay. We would like to try Cinnamon or Caneel. any suggestions?

Thanks!!!

I've never been to Caneel, but have been to Cinnamon Bay on 2 different cruises over the years. We really liked it. It was not crowded either time we went (we were almost the only ones there!). It is beautiful and the snorkeling is okay, too. They have nice bathrooms/changing/shower rooms and a little convenience store to buy snacks/drinks, etc.

Thanks Mog. How would you compare it to Trunk Bay? Have you ever been to Trunk? Which ferry did you take? How long does it take to get there from the ferry port? We leave next Saturday and are so excited for St. John particularly. For St. martin we are debating wheter we should go to Anguilla where the beaches are just incredilble. A little longer to get to but worth. St Martin day is a lot longer than St. John day.
Thanks again.

I have not been to Trunk Bay (my husband has and likes Cinnamon Bay better). I have heard that Trunk Bay is more crowded.
We took a taxi as soon as we got off the ship to Red Hook and took the ferry from there. It is a shorter ferry ride than from Charlotte Amalie. We rented a van (because there were 8 of us), but I imagine you could also just as easily get a taxi to Cinnamon Bay and ask them to pick you back up at a certain time. I don't remember how long the ferry ride was, but I want to say it was only 20 minutes or so. The taxi ride to get to Red Hook seemed to take a while though.
