St. John/St. Thomas questions

I second (third?) Trunk Bay. It was absolutely spectacular. Even if you have never snorkeled before, this is the place to try it. The water is crystal clear and they actually have underwater signs identifying the different fish and where to find them. We rented snorkel equipment for about $5.00. Oh, and if you go, can you please pick up my daughter's brand new swimsuit that she left in the restroom there last year? ;) ;)

Also, I think someone mentioned it before, but Cuzzins in St. Thomas is a great little place where a lot of locals go. Excellent food and POTENT drinks--you really get your money's worth if you know what I mean!

Just want to tell you to have a great trip, Bet and enjoy the islands!!! I will be in the desert during the same time......Vegas!!! :bounce:

LOL Jeafl.......there's a reason why drinks are so much stonger down here. It's because alcohol is a lot cheaper than the mixers. Rum is only $2.39 a bottle retail.

In fact when a bar pours a drink on the light side.....we call it a Stateside pour.

:smooth: :smooth: :smooth:

Thank you. thank you, thank you!!!

I am getting SO excited, after reading all these replies. I have been preoccupied with a medical problem of my sister's, and that was definitely interfering with my ability to look forward to this trip (was actually afraid I might have to cancel, if she got bad news). But I went to the doctor with her yesterday and she did not get bad news, so I am now in celebratory mode and really gearing up for this!!!

I just called my husband at work and read him all the information from this thread! :) :) We've been on a lot of vacations, but the only times we go without the kids are 3 day weekends trips. This will be our longest trip without them, since our honeymoon! And we've never been anywhere like this!!

My friend, Haylei (the gal who organized everything) has been telling me about Jost Van ****, Foxy's and the Soggy Dollar Bar since we decided, a year ago, to take this vacation! So I know we are definitely going to do those!

I'm going to print out this thread right before I leave, so I'll have the names of all these great places! If anyone else has suggestions, please add them!

Thank you again, for all the great suggestions!

and Kitty, I hope you have a great time in Vegas!

Just heard back from my mom.

She seconds going to Skinny Legs, very very fun spot. They also enjoy Cinnammon Bay for snorkleing also. And as others have said, if you are boating, you must go to Foxy's. It's a blast (Wow, Linda $500 for New Year's? He is moving up in the world, eh?)

Have a great great great trip. I am insanely jealous, BTW. ;)

Since St. Thomas (with excursions to St. John) is one of the stops on Disney Cruise Line, I would pose the same question on the Disney Cruise Line board here at the DIS. A lot of the folks who post there are return cruisers.

St. John is one of my favorite islands in the Caribbean.

Trunk Bay is spectacular. It is truely as gorgeous as any picture you may have seen.
