St. John Barefoot Sail and Snorkel (to La Vida Marina, where you'll board the Allure)

5-Star St. John Snorkel and Beach Adventure (aboard Leylon Sneed)

St. John Trunk Bay Beach and Snorkel Tour (scenic journey via land and sea )

If you have done any of these excursions, could you please let me know if you enjoyed the excursion and/or you know the difference between them. I am going with a group of 17 people (3 families, childrens ages range from 7-17). Thanks in advance for your help. :boat:

My family did the St John Snorkel & Beach tour. It's a nice time & we really enjoyed it. Once to the area they let you jump off the back of the boat. You can snorkel to the beach & catch a ride back in a small boat or just swim back. The water was very clear & there was lots of time to snorkel.
You can buy some small gift items in on board. The crew at that time was very nice & fun to sail with. the boat is not a catamaran it's a good size boat. They even tell you the history of it. ENJOY

We did the 5 - star. It was too long of a boat ride:sad2:. Trunk bay is beautiful, but the hour+ each way and 45 minutes in the water just wasn't that appealing to my family. I would try something else next time.

We did the St. John Island Tour but were on the same boat (Island Queen) with the Trunk Bay group going to and from St. John. There is a guide on the boat that gives the history of the islands and points out places of interest both ways. The Island Queen has both inside seating and an upper deck that is open depending on which you prefer. Some of our DisFriends did the Trunk Bay Beach and Snorkel Tour and enjoyed it. Major difference is that on the Trunk Bay you take the Island Queen to St. John - about a 45 minute trip and then take an open air taxi from the dock around the island to the Trunk bay so you get a short tour of the island. I believe the other two go straight to the snorkeling without any time on the island.

Can't say how long they spent snorkeling on each tour.

I did the Trunk Bay snorkel tour....omg it was beautiful..and was over in enough time to do some shopping. Trunk Bay is the most beautiful place I have ever seen.... :teleport:

We did the barefoot catamaran sail and snorkel. The boat was very nice, the crew great and the snorkeling was very good.

Next time we want to do the 5-star snorkel trip to trunk bay.

We did the 5 star and the trunk bay excursions. We did the trunk bay in the summer and it was beautiful. We actually had to walk in a 4th of july parade to get back to the boat, rather than an open air bus because the road was closed due to the parade and the sides of the road were packed with people! We did the 5 star leyland sneed over new year's eve and they couldn't stop at trunk bay because the water was too rough. We went somewhere else, but it took an eternity and we stopped in front of a hotel, where they yelled at us not to be on their beach! Both times they were quite long boat rides over to st. john. I would never do it again in the winter with rough seas--- almost everybody on the leyland sneed was seasick and throwing up the whole time. I would only either trip on calm waters. We learned a lot about winter seas that time.
