Is there a dance floor in there? I was looking at pictures and I did'nt see one anywhere.

There is no permanent dance floor. I believe they can put in a hardwood dance floor for you for $500. Ask your coordinator for confirmation. When I was looking at customs, that room was offered to me since my ceremony is at Sea Breeze Point. I went intimate, so I've since forgotten details about St. James Hall & Patio. My wedding consultant did say if I was only having a first dance and a few after that, the carpet is fine for most couples. The hardwood dance floor would be if we were going to have a lot of dancing.

I am not 100% sure but we are at the Boardwalk (not in St James)and there is no charge for a dance floor. I think at the convention center rooms they automatically give you one...again not sure check with your planner:goodvibes

If you are having a DJ the cost of a dancefloor is included in that price. We had ours in the Marvin Gardens in the Boardwalk and paid no extra charge for our dancefloor!

i am so gald to hear that there is no additonal cost, for you ladies that had your weddings at the boradwalk how was the space how many guests, what theme. i am getting so excited i am at st james for pre and ballroom for the reception. sorry it is a little off topic

We only had 26 people so we had Marvin Gardens A and B. It was perfect for our party size - plenty of room ithout us feeling swamped! They do a great job with the lighting too which makes it look really soft and romantic!

good to know-thanks

question about lighting my wedding is at 230 but i really wanted it dark with soft lights i hope this makes sence do they do this??

Wel yes I think they can pull the drapes for you since the St james is all glass doors and windows, but then you would loose out on that great patio! If the ceremony is at 2:30 if the ceremony is at 2:30 than the reception is probably not until after 4pm so it may be getting darker? Where is you CH? When we were at our site visit the lights were so low we couldn't see but there was nothing (candles, lights) in the room:lmao:

In terms of size. We are using Promenade West- we are having about 65 guests give or take. Our Ch was scheduled for st james but long story it got moved to an outdoor area.

my ceremony is at 230. i dontmind the pre-reception light i actually prefer it that way becaue of all the windows my concern was the ballroom i really wanted some ambiance.

We had our reception at the Boardwalk ballrooms. We had 120, and since there are no windows, you can create any kind of ambience you would like. Our reception had very low light with pin spots on the cake table and dance floor. And we also had the M&M spotlights (globos?) above our head table.

This is a pic of St James set up for a confrence...

You can see the windows and doors so ask if they can cover them with window treatments;)
