St Augustine lodging and attractions???

romantic dinner I would suggest Columbia's or Tavern on the Green, or Casa Monica's. All great food. The inn is very old. It is the one over by the oldest house and it is in high demand. It is supposedly haunted and is lovely to stay in. I know that it has some great balaconies. It is also within walking distance of some of the attractions and very near a stop for the trolleys. You should be able to pay for the trolley and then ride for 3 days. That will help you get to the other side of town. HTH

Can one of you experts tell me if it's feasable to make a one day trip to St. Augustine from WDW? We are locked into our WDW hotels but find ourselves with a few extra days on our hands with nothing to do. I have always wanted to visit St. Augustine. How far of a drive from WDW is it? Thanks!

the drive should be about 1&1/2 hours but less than 2 - it takes me right at 2 hours to get from Disney to my home on the southside of Jacksonville (which is north of St Augustine). I've timed it from my home south to the St Augustine outlet mall is about 20 minutes (with light traffic). there are a couple exits for St. Augustine off of 95, just make sure you get off on the correct one for the area of St Auggie you want to visit. From Orlando, if you are wanting to visit the historic area, I'm thinking it is best to get off at the Outlet Mall exit & take 16 east to the Historic areas - St Augustine experts, please correct me if I'm wrong as I rarely ever visit St Augustine other than the outlet malls. I think in the past 8 years I've lived in JAX, I've only ever been to Downtown St Augustine less than 5 times.
