I was wondering how far St. Augustine is from Orlando or should I say how long a car ride. My husband is saying it is about an hour and 20 min but I think it is much longer than that. Has anyone driven it? I would like to go and spend the day but do not want to get a room, just return to my villa at night.

I live in Jacksonville, which is 20-30 min north of St Augustine. It takes me just about 2 hours to drive to Disney. Depending on traffic and any accidents. My aunt comes has a time share in St Augustine and they always drive to DTD for the day and back easily. So I would say your husband in correct give or take 10 min.

Make sure you walk St George St in St Augustine.

Thanks, now I guess I will have to tell him he is right ...after all it is father's day.

Goofyfreek, is St. Augustine the city with the two huge outlet malls one on either side of the highway?? Or is that Jacksonville? I know we usually stop there but I cannot remember what city. It is the mall with the Tommy Bahama outlet with a Sonny's Restaurant behind. Got my fingers crossed it is in St. Augustine.

Yes the outlet malls are in St. Augustine. They are north of the old city on Hwy. 16 just off of I-95. I recommend St. George St. as well for shopping. I love to buy purses at the Spanish Dutch Convoy. Candles at a quaint candle shop not sure of the name but if your interested I can give great directions. The memorabila store is another favorite. I also love Bath Junkies its new and actually on Spanish St. but it is now a must do. I finally love to shop in this small store near St. Georges walking mall next to the Tavern at the back that sells angels. Sarah's Angels to be exact. So I only go to the outlets for clothes or shoes if I need them. I mostly shop in the old city for gifts and one of a kind items. HTH :cheer2:
