Hi everybody,
i don't know if you noticed my ticker but it has changed. originally i was taking the kids on Jan 5th next year for 2 weeks staying at my grandparent's timeshare . After careful consideration, I thought it was wrong to take my kids out of school for 2 weeks, i have done it before, but they are getting a little older, and the schools take such a dim view on parents doing this, to be honest i didn't want to try and defend why my children need another disney trip:cool1: It also would have had us in WDW for DS 4th birthday which while wonderful for me and him, would have been very upsetting for daddy (we separated last year to anyone that didn't know) he asked me very nicely to always have the children around for their birthdays and if the situation was reversed i would be devastated.

Anyway, to cut my ramblings short, i have decided to go early. My kids finish school on 13th December, nice and early, so I am going to leave on 12th (1 day off is better than 2 weeks) and come back on 21st, giving us 9 nights, and back in time for Xmas, this should keep everyone happy. I am booking 5 nights at Pop, then 4 nights at Wilderness Lodge, i can't wait to see it decked out for Xmas, but I couldn't afford all 9 nights there. Flights are coming out nicely with Virgin, using miles, at £1080 for the 4 of us.

The best bit is I'm not going to tell my kids.....nothing.....not a word:goodvibes they can carry on thinking that we are going after Xmas, and will be so excited when instead of going to school, they are going to WDW!!
I have seen varied reactions on children before but I just know that my kids are going to love this one.

In conclusion, xmas decorations and events without xmas crowds, fairly cheap rates, big xmas present suprise for kids, everybody happy, I AM SO EXCITED:banana:

Sounds good Claire.

I'd like to stay at the Wilderness Lodge at Christmas, it just seems right somehow.

The betting is now open on whether you will keep the secret or not.
It's 15/8 against you keep the secret. 1/2 on you blurt it out in a fit of excitement. :rotfl2:

Sounds fantastic Claire. I am excited for you! :goodvibes Good luck keeping the secret. I am at the stage where I am dropping hints about our August trip and hoping DS will guess and ask me! :rolleyes1

Sara. :)

:woohoo: Sounds like a wonderful trip :woohoo:
enjoy the planning
are you going to the Xmas party in MK

Yep, the xmas party is high on my agenda, I can't wait to see the fake snow:goodvibes

That's great Claire I'd love to go at Christmas and see all the lights and go to the party, from reading TR's it seems like the crowds don't get heavy until you leave :thumbsup2 We did a secret holiday to Lapland a few years ago and didn't tell the girls until we were at the airport, it was so hard not to tell there again I think they were the only ones in the whole of our village who didn't know :rotfl2:

How exciting Claire, just before Christmas is a fab time to go

Have fun with your planning :)

What a great time t go. Good luck with keeping a secret. I would last about 5 minutes:rolleyes1
