Both are really great zoos, Cynthia. I think we may take a ride to Lincoln Park next month after Mark gets back from Vegas.

I thought I'd sub'd to this thread clear back in January but apparently not because I immediately recognized your PTR title but am eons behind on reading! I will crack up if I find myself already 'sub'ing' in your PTR somewhere while I read!

Loved your zoo pictures!! I remember going to the Brookfield Zoo when I was young and just loving it. I haven't been back in well over 15 years though. Sometime we are going to do a Chicago vacation to see family and tour the City, I think the zoo will have to be on the list - it will bring back some great memories for me!

What a bummer about the elephants though! I hope they are able to refurb the area and get some new elephants soon!!

Kudos to you for walking in that heat. We pretended it didn't exist and stayed inside all day. I'm so glad the heat has broken here though, it's been wonderful the past couple days!

Amy, I can't even remember what day of our trip I left off on my own PTR, so I totally understand. But you are here now and I'm thrilled to have you.

It's back into the upper 80's with lots of humidity and the weekend is going to be in the 90's again with more humidity. Mark is off to Vegas where it is 103 and probably cooler than here.

So when I last did an update, we had finished off Sunday, October 2.

On Monday, we will start the morning as we always do -- going to meet Nicki for coffee (perhaps I'l let Mark sleep in a little and I'll go myself this day). After coffee, we will have a "pool" day:

IF it should do the unthinkable and rain on our vacation, we've been talking about driving to Miami and going to the Aquarium there...so that can be the back-up plan.

For dinner, let's pretend we are going to Kelly's. We went in April and it was very, very good (and very, very expensive).

Nicki is in charge of all of our dinners on the Marco portion of our trip because everything will depend on Todd's work schedule.

That brings us to Tuesday, our last full day on Marco Island. Coffee in the morning with Nicki. And then I am sure Mark will want to go to the beach since it our last day. So we'll head there in the morning and hang out until I'm getting "too crisp".

After we've left the beach, we'll head back to the condo where I will finish up any laundry, including washing the sheets, towels, etc., and cleaning up the condo. I'm guessing Mark will go back down to the pool while I do all the work.

We will then have our final dinner with Nicki and Todd and have to say goodbye to Todd (I'm counting on seeing Nic the next morning for a last coffee before we drive back to Orlando for our flight home).

Up next...we have to go home.
