Jokingly answered one of my daughters about what I wanted for my birthday this year....I said, "I don't know, don't really need anything ...buy me a ticket to Orlando .... just kidding "

That was yesterday....

Just booked SSR for March 1st! LOL Going to be a girls trip with both DD21 and DD25!!! So love a plan when it comes together so fast!

We never have stayed at SSR... where should we request? No car this time, would like to hang out at the pool if weather permitting and enjoy a few adult beverages :goodvibes:

Thanks

Gail

Main pool close to main building and food or quieter smaller pool?

Walking distance to DTD?

Congress Park has DTD views, easy walking to DTD marketplace, and a beautiful quiet pool with DTD views..but no pool bar

There's a mid-day pool bar at Grandstand. The pool bar at the new Paddock feature pool has QS food, and possibly longer hours.

The main area, Springs would have the best SSR dining and bar proximity, plus closest to the Spa (although the spa is getting a renovation soon?)

The boat from SSR to DTD downtown departs somewhat between Springs and Grandstand. (Grandstand is a reasonable walk to the main areas)

I'm thinking main pool due to food and bar...?

Walking distance to DTD?

I don't think that's as important for us this trip...

The main area, Springs would have the best SSR dining and bar proximity, plus closest to the Spa (although the spa is getting a renovation soon?)

Sounds like the best option for us...so this would be the Springs area to request?

Springs should do it for this trip, have a great time! :goodvibes

Check out FAQ #4 in this post in the SSR Lovers & Owners thread. It's my thoughts on the pros and cons of each section at SSR. There are also maps and other info that should be helpful in making your choice.

What a wonderful link with information!!!

Thank you so very much!!

I have stayed there several times. Congress park is nice, but not near the 2 main pools. Paddock is near the new, cool pool. There is food served there. DTD is a good place for adult beverages as well.

Just came back from a trip with my DDs (also 21 & 25) staying at SSR. I requested Springs because we also didn't have a car and wanted to be near Artist Palette and Turf Club. We were in room 3303 which is in the Springs building closest to Congress Park. It was perfect for us because we do go to DTD a lot...especially at night. Have a great trip!

Thanks for the info from everyone! My DD25 is getting married in June, so this is becoming a kinda special get away for the three of us girls.

Sigh....it seems like it was just yesterday when we took them on their first Disney trip. Great magical memories we will always share of them as little kids there. So glad they still love it and have become Disney nuts like their mom. Lol.
