SSR walkway

Does anyone know if the walkway from Saratoga to DTD is open yet?

Yes, it's a pleasant 10-15 stroll from any of the Congress Park buildings along the lake.

Where does the walkway connect to Downtown Disney?

We'll be staying at SSR next month and planned to walk to Cirque du Soleil but might reconsider if the walkway ends at the other end of DTD.

I know the one walkway we took to DTD was along the water and ended up by the bus stops at the Marketplace. I think there is another one at the other side of the resort that takes you nearer to West Side.

There is a path from the parking lot behind the House of Blues that follows the lake/canal, edges along the golf course and then crosses a small footbridge. This path splits here. Take the path to the right and you end up at the golf Pro Shop and then you just have to follow the sidewalks to wherever you want to go. I didn't take the path to the left, so I can't tell you where it leads. I imagine it is the proverbial "road less travelled".

LOL. The "small footbridge" is the golf cart bridge (it has a sign saying "No Joggers")- be very careful when crossing the bridge- the golf carts take up much of the available space.

The "road less travelled" leads to the golf cart barn and a parking lot (ask me how I know ).

If you continue on the path instead of crossing the cart bridge- you'll end up at OKW.

From SSR, this would be the shortest route to walk to Cirque, HoB and DQ. Walk to the SSR marina and continue on past to the cart bridge- turn left as you get off the bridge, follow the paved path past the practice green to the sidewalk around the West Side parking lot. It's a 15 minute walk from the Congress Park buildings.

Thanks Doc! I saw that on the map and wondered if it was a golf cart bridge but I figured the course wouldn't be open that late so I would be safe.

Seriously, thanks for the info as DW and I will be at SSR in Oct and not doing much parks so we will be exploring a lot.

If you want to sneak a peak at the Fairway Villas (at least some of these will be torn down for the SSR Phase III buildings), follow the paved path instead of crossing the cart bridge towards Cirque. This leads to the cart barn (staging area), parking and Fairway Villas (currently used as housing for some CP CM's.

It always helps to look a little lost when "exploring"- especially when the security van pulls up and asks if you need help.

You can also see the Fairway Villas from the pathway (cross the cart bridge towards Cirque, but turn right towards OKW when you get off the bridge). They will be visible across the canal. If you walk a little further towards OKW, you can also see the (now empty) Treehouse Villas- also across the canal.

Thanks, Doc, for the "footbridge" correction. I wasn't sure how to word it. I didn't want people to think it was a major river crossing but I guess I understated it.
