Ssr Walkway To Dtd Marketplace

I read that the walkway from SSR to DTD Marketplace wont be open until August at the earliest. Can anyone confirm this? I will be there on Aug 8th and was wondering if it will be open by then.

I read the same but probably in the same place you did so I can't "confirm" it.

There was also a thread about someone having trouble getting a boat to DD. It seems that at least for the moment, the proximity of SSR to DD is only good for viewing -- you can't actually get there. Are there any shuttle buses?

A walkway would be great! How far would the walk be? That is one of the things we love about BW, walking access to at least two of the parks.

from the only block that is open DW timed her walk to the west side from the room it took her 15 min so in the evening we bused it to market place walked up througth shops then PI then through west side and went back to SS round the top path area which takes you through LBVGC whichs is at the back of the resort was a nice plesent walk and it will be better when botom walkway near to rainforest open we think it will open at the start of August as that block looked near to opening

the walk way is open at least it was during MH , it takes you thru a very short shrubbery / trees and bushes path , im not sure how safe it would be at night, then you come out my cirque du soleil
and you still have a good distance to DTD for shopping.

The boats run very hour until 4:30 PM, then every half hour. They are the old Sassagoula boats that POR used, except these are dedicated to OKW and SSR. It is the "DVC Line", and there is a separate boarding area at DD.

Contrary to what I read in some other postings, last week we had excellent bus service from SSR to and from anywhere. Never more than a 10 minute wait with dedicated SSR busses.

Last week we had excellent bus service. My problem was when I tried to take the boat from SSR to Dtd. The boats come from OKW then to SSR and then to DtD. Last week the boats were filling up at OKW so they just went right past SSR. I hope they plan on putting more boats into service as SSR opens up more buildings.

Yes, there are DTD buses from SSR.

There will eventually be two walkways from SSR to DTD (at the MH Preview, they said there will be a circular path around the lake called The Promenade) - on by the boat dock that takes you to the West End (Cirque) and one by (what we've been calling) Bldg 4 that takes you to DM (Earl of Sandwich). The West End path is open, the DM one was closed due to construction on those buildings.

I'm sure the promenade walkway will be open by August 8- since the first phase (first 4 buildings) are all scheduled to be open by August 7 and the last building in that phase is closest to DD.

It will be about 400 yards (maybe a few yards longer) to DD from that building (villas 1101-1437 ??). The bus service is fine and provides dependable service to DD.

The current "walkway" available at this time is much further than the paved promenade yet to open completely- which follows the lake in front of the first phase buildings.

The West Side walkway is much farther. I think both will be safe at night.

It's great that there is bus service to DD.
Now if we can only get bus service from Epcot resorts to Studios. Same deal: we have path, we have boat, but bus would still be nice.
