SSR vs. OKW

Hi.

One of the resorts that I am very unfamiliar with is OKW.
There is a possibility I can book OKW for an upcoming trip.
I currently have SSR one bedroom, preferred, my home resort and we love being able
to walk to DTD.

My question is, why would I want to stay at OKW instead of SSR?
Is there any big advantage or would you just keep SSR, one bedroom preferred.
We are three adults, my mom, my dd-25 and me.

The biggest thing would probably be the room size. OKW has bigger rooms, but other than that, I’m not really sure as we have never stayed at either.

The OKW 1-bedroom will be around 290 sq feet larger than a SSR 1-bedroom. The OKW 1-bedroom will have the sleeper chair, so it officially sleeps 5. SSR officially sleeps 4, a 5th is allowed but you must provide bedding. Both only have one bathroom. For some OKW 1-bedrooms, the only entry into the bathroom is in the master bedroom. The others have 2 entries, one in the master and one through the laundry area.

As for the resorts themselves, SSR to me feels more like an apartment complex. It's comprised of 18 buildings that each have 46 units. OKW has more of a condo feel and is more spread out at 46 buildings (varying number of units per building). As far as total number of rooms, OKW is smaller by 300 to 500 less rooms (varies based on how many 2-bedroom lock-offs are actually booked as lock-offs).

If it matters, OKW, except for 3 buildings, do NOT have elevators. Where ALL SSR building have them. IF stairs are a problem this could be very important. As Micheal posted you will have a LOT more space in the OKW 1 BR plus a very large patio/balcony. Real wash/dryers, not the tiny stacked units and many great views for the lakes and golf course.
Walk to DS from OKW is long and unlighted, there is a boat to DS as well as a bus. Note the boats will not run if bad weather, so know where the bus stops are located.

Thank you all very much. Given the few responses above, I think I will keep my SSR 1 bedroom preferred view. The three of us have traveled
on cruises in one cabin as well as Disney in a studio and we travel well together. I like SSR and hope our view is of DTD and enjoy walking there in
the evenings for dinner/drinks.
