SSR visit - somewhat disappointed.

Read on another board this AM that they are renovating the Tree House area and that it is actually shown as the land being part of SSR. Wonder if we will see sales of SSR continue longer than originally expected or if they are in fact going to still be for the college program interns. If SSR I am glad I've got a 150 point 11 month advantage there as well as my OKW and BCV contracts as I have always wanted to stay there.

That is a beautiful picture! What is the Tree House area?

Those Fireworks are Epcot. When you look at the google earth map, you get a sense of how close SSR really is to the Park.

Disney is finishing construction on new housing for the college program CM's. That is why you are seeing the permits being filed for the Tree House Villa replacement. All of the CM's will be moving out to the new housing.

IOn the other hand, one could argue that SSR has the most dining options of any resort, if you don't mind the short walk/boat ride to DTD. I know that including DTD is sugar-coating it, but we really do look at DTD as an extension of SSR.

I thought that also. Since DTD has so many restaurants they didn't feel like they needed to have many restaurants on property.:confused3

It was mentioned that the permits were filed 12/27/07 and that the college students had been moved to the new housing.

The drawings show that the replacement units will have a master bedroom with king bed, two other rooms with one bed each and a total of two bathrooms. The sofa and a chair in the living area could be pull out units such as at AKV. I guess they would be classified as 3 bedroom two bath units. The permits do not indicate that they will be DVC but someone posted the drawing from the SSR POS that shows that area with the 60 treehouses. They also state they will not be adding a pool but there is already one there.

Actually I was referring to the exterior hallways ... I am shocked that anyone would prefer leaving a beautiful room to walk into a interior concrete hallway ... not like OKW which actually opens to the outside ..

But .. now that some people have said they like it that way .. so be it ... different strokes I guess.

I really am not following the difference in OKW and SSR. :confused3 Few units are steps away from the outside but just as many are right at the front of the buildings as they are at OKW.

I am shocked that it matters. Personally I prefer them because they keep them clean, the hallways at BWV and BCV and VWL are always stained with people sitting bags of garbage out there.

It doesn't, but its something to complain about.......

What does eating popcorn have do with the discussion of whether one likes inside hallways or not. I am sure that even though mlayton14 prefers one and I prefer the other, the answer is we both simply book what we prefer.

I think it is merely the reference to the entertainment of SSR haters vs SSR lovers......

Sammie, It shows that someone is interested in the topic of your discussion or maybe just the discussion itself, but doesn't want to get involved. It is not an insult to either party. :flower3: I'm not telling you anything you don't know.

I dont know about anyone hating SSR, that is kinda strong, for a resort and I certainly don't love it, I reserve that emotion for family.

But as to it being entertainment, I would suggest a really good book or movie. Anything here as being thought to be entertainment especially voicing likes and dislikes of a Disney resort is well, juvenile at best.

I suppose I don't look at it as a "hallway" but more of an extension of the walkway. We had a first floor villa and just walked from the walkway in the open air to the walkway that was covered and led to the room. It doesn't have an interior, indoor feel so it didn't feel unfinished as you make it sound.

Wow, do you happen to remember the room number or at least the building you were in with that view?

Pretty impressive isn't it. :thumbsup2 That is Congress Park and the person sharing said it was a studio, obviously top floor

I don't think that was necessary.

My popcorn was a way of subscribing without adding to the discussion.

And I do like these boards as entertainment as well as information.

With 9 years on these boards and over 10000 posts, apparently you do as well.

Have a wonderful evening.

Actually ... I think the popcorn guy is usually used in an insulting way. Like "I can't believe you said that (are arguing about that) and I'll just sit back and watch this thread implode." If you didn't mean it that way, then perhaps you should learn to use the "thread tools" drop-down
on the upper right. Drop it down and select "Subscribe to this thread" and then you are subscribed without any popcorn popcorn::.

Have to agree. Which is why I asked. if that is not the case, simply explain why you used the Popcorn icon and yet did not enter into the discussion.

As far as using the forums for entertainment, afraid not, any one that knows me, can pretty much my 10,000 have been sharing facts about vacation planning. I try very hard to avoid everything else.

Not my intention...just observing. However, I see that even reading and subscribing can draw some sort of negative response.

:rolleyes1
No, I have no problem with you reading and subscribing. I was just trying to explain why the popcorn guy might get a negative response. Now you know :).

Whew...and to think I almost weighed in on hallways, building exterior etc.
