SSR upgrade thru RCI ?

We have a SSR reservation for a 1BR the last week of April. I was wondering if there is a chance for an upgrade to a 2 BR.
We requested an upgrade if available thru RCI for an additional fee, but when I called the DVC they said that an upgrade wouldn't be possible until the day of, if possible at all. Has anyone ever been upgraded to a 2 BR from a 1 BR thru an RCI exchange?

Pretty close to zero chance. DVC bookings do not get upgrades due to the nature of their booking and utilization.

I did the same thing for our May/June trip- we also have a 1 bedroom at SS through RCI. I think the chances are slim but there is a timeshare forum that may be able to answer - tubbs I think- I will check.

Do you get the fee refunded if not available?

I checked DVC and dedicated 2 bedrooms are available right now for all nights in April except 4/16.

We will only be charged if we are given the upgrade.

I highly doubt that a 2BR will become available. DVC has not been depositing 2BR into RCI for quite some time. I guess it is possible that someone deposits last minute as a way to extend their points, but it is going to be extremely rare.

Do you know how this upgrade fee works? Who gets the fee?

Dvc upgrades are near impossible. Any openings that are from breakage will be in the cash room pool not available for that type of upgrades

RCI would get the upgrade fee. I guess from all the replies, we will very likely not get the upgrade. I just have to find a thread for where to request a room location. What floor, view and area of the resort. Any suggestions?
