I have booked the Treehouse Villas for December. Please provide pros & cons. We were at WDW several years ago & stayed at Grand Floridian & Wilderness Lodge. We have not been there in a while & don't know if there are others that might be better suited or more attractive than the treehouse villas. Would love your opinion.

Thanks

There are more pros than cons.

The treehouses are gorgeous. The decor and layout are very nice. The master bathroom is stunning and I enjoyed the kitchen and dining area. The outside deck is huge and I wish there was more than a table/4chairs out there for seating. They each have their own charcoal barbeque which is nice.

I can't recommend staying here if you are planning to spend a lot of time in the parks and you do not have your own transportation. It's time consuming to use the Disney transportation here to/from parks because you either have to take a 10 minute minimum walk to the Grandstand area or catch a shuttle bus to another bus stop to catch a park bus. The villas are isolated. Most people find it charming. We did not. It's a decent hike from the villas to a themed pool, the store, the counter service food, etc. If you are looking for lodging that gives you the feel that you have "gotten away from it all", this is the right place for you.

There is only one parking place per THV. If you have more than one vehicle, additional vehicles will need to be parked at the Grandstand.

There are three bedrooms, but only two bathrooms. The second and third bed room (third has a set of bunkbeds for small adults or children) share the second bathroom.

But it will be quiet and away from it all. Especially if the parks are nuts, you get your respite at the THV.

with the 1 space per villa rule, some on this board have posted about rulebreakers parking multiple vehicles in the THV area instead of at the grandstand as instructed. This means your space may not be available. These same posters also mention a reluctance on SSR to enforce the parking "rule".

That being said, if you have transportation you'll love THVs. They're definitely different, the theming is awesome, and we loved the space inside. The pool is plain, but during our time there it was as if we had it to ourselves. It also has its own dock for the boatride to DTD.

Thanks for all the responses. The information was very helpful in making the right decisions. We will not have a car. So, it might make sense to find a different resort.
