On Christmas Eve we have an ADR for WCC at Wilderness Lodge. Would it be faster to drive there ourselves or use the bus. We are staying at SSR. If we drive where can I find directions and if we use the bus how would that work? Would we have to go to a park then get on the right bus? Thanks for your help.

It would be faster to drive, but less stressful to use Disney transportation.

Disney: bus from SSR to Magic Kingdom, then boat (or bus) to Wilderness Lodge. Alternative: bus to any park, then bus to Wilderness Lodge.

Drive: get directions from Guest Services at SSR, or from Bell Services.

It will be much faster to drive than take a bus.

As you exit SSR, take a left and follow that road past OKW. At the lights, turn right and follow that road past POR to its end, turn left at the lights. Follow that road past Fort Wilderness and continue to the point where it joins World Drive. At your first set of lights, turn right to WL. As I read this, it all sounds more complicated than it really is. Its just four turns, left, right, left & right. Total drive time - 5-10 minutes. :car:

If you have to take a bus, you may be best off walking to DTD and catching the WL bus there. Allow 10-20 minutes to walk from SSR to the DTD bus stop, depending on where you are in SSR. Add another 10-20 minutes of waiting for the bus, and 10+ minutes for the bus to get you to WL once you are on board.

less stressful to use Disney transportation.
Unless, for some reason, the buses are running late. On my last OKW stay, I waited 35+ minute for a dinner-time return to MK on *two* different days.

I would drive, no questions asked. If you'd rather let someone else do the driving, a cab would be a good option, and not very expensive.

We stayed at SSR for the first time this year and did the transfer at DTD to the other resorts - they are located rather conveniently from SSR.

We also took a taxi from POR to SSR one evening, since it was after the water taxis were running and it was only $7.00 - well worth it.

Driving to WL is really easy. Route 1 in a previous post is the way I would go but you do have another option. Take Vacation Club Way and go though the traffic light onto Epcot Center Dr, get in the left lane and follow the MK signs, right exit onto World Dr, go through the MK toll booth and bear right, next traffic light is Seven Seas Dr, take right into WL. Parking there is plentiful and easy.
