Hi, I am looking for ANY info on the SPA at SSR. It will be my DD's 25th:bday: when we visit in July and I would like for her and I to try the spa. We usually get pedicures together(so that is one thought) but what else would be a nice treat for the two of us?? Thanks, Joan

A few X-mas's ago I got a Pepermint Pedi for DW . She loved it and said they did wonderful job.

I might send her and DD over this coming trip as well.

Try it? Ohhhh, yeahhhh. My birthday is coming up so my husband decided to schedule the DVC Member Special Package for me - Swedish Massage, Aromatherapy Facial, pedicure, manicure - last Thursday. Three hours of sheer heaven. Plus a DVC member discount - the entire thing cost $288 plus tax and tip and add in the products that are recommended from the facial. I had such a nice day that I recommended that my husband and son get the Gentlemen's Facial as well. $130 per guy, plus tax, plus tip and plus all the recommended products. Needless to say, we spent a whole lot on that day - more than we had spent in the previous week including all the meals, souveniers, etc.

All three of us have the prettiest skin right now. And multiple products to keep it looking that way.

Just went yesterday for my peppermint-pedi!

Really enjoyed it and now my feet look like they are on vacation too!:). I should have went for the mani but was short on time

I bussed over from Akv and it was soooo worth the trip! I do miss SSR but we r having a great trip!

I had the mystical forest massage and aromatherapy facial....it was amazing. Wasn't thrilled with the mani/pedi. There were 4 people in the same room getting treatments and the workers were really loudly speaking spanish. Not relaxing at all.

THANKS for all the answers!!:thumbsup2 Is there a place online to view a list of treatments with prices?? And as DVC members do we get discounts?? Joan

:) My MIL and I went a couple of years ago when we were staying at POFQ. We each got facials and massages. We were picked up at our resort by a taxi and I think that was around $10--worth it. I scheduled them early like around 8:00 or something. We were the only two women there. Be sure if you are getting a massage or other treatment that you bring a swim suit and enjoy the warming/cooling pools and sauna before your treatment. They have the coolest swim suit spinners to get the water out of your suit. Lockers were very nice with water, cool towels and other amenities close by. We were able to take a rest before our facials. The products were way out of our budget but it was very nice, quiet and relaxing. We found the spa difficult to find inside the building, seems we wondered around for about 10-15 min looking for it and we did not see any signs. Finally someone pointed us in the right direction.

There was a bus stop close by so we just met DH and BIL at one of the parks at lunch......Fantastic time with my MIL who had never done anything like that before.:cloud9:

Yes there is actually. I will look for it and see if I can find it for you.

Just make sure you are real clear with them about the price. I called and asked for the price of a massage. They gave me a flat price. I was like, "OK, let's schedule it." Then she asked me what type of massage I wanted and read off a list of different ones. I chose the deep tissue massage. Little did I know that it was considerably more. I just assumed it was the price that she had quoted me minutes earlier. I was too relaxed when I got the bill to complain, but it was very upsetting later.

The link above looks a little out of date. The Spa is run by Niki Bryan Spas, and site is: relaxedyet dot com (sorry about my lack of linking ability, but I have too few posts. I'm just a lurker, really)

I always get the Gentleman's Facial and a massage, and I love it.

EDIT: I'll add the link for you - Chuck S

The water extractor is out of service at this time. They had a sign on it last week. You can come in from near Artist's Palette or on the lower level just past the preview center.

As members we get a 10% discount on many of the treatments, but not on the Amala products (darn, they are very nice).

Hi Joan S.,
I took my MIL to the Spa at Saratoga when she was here in December for the Peppermint Pedicure so many on the Disboards recommended.

The treatment itself was wonderful and the staff so nice. My only complaint was that the room they do manicures and pedicures in is very small. There were two pedicure chairs and one small table for manicures.

The person getting a manicure was right there with us. In the rest of the spa lights were dimmed and music playing. In the pedicure room lights where turned up bright and music was different. I understand they probably need the light for what they are doing but it was not very relaxing.

I would defiantly suggest the spa and the other services. The rest of the facilities were beautiful. Whatever you choose I am sure you will have a great time and remember to show you membership card for a discount!

Have a great trip and Happy Birthday to DD. party:

That's it....Thanks so much...I knew it was something simple like that. Heck with info like that you should post more often.

That water extractor was the coolest thing ever.....like Dory and the pretty lights....I was mesmorized.

Thank You!! The Spa Pedicure is what I have decided we will do. She and I always got pedicures together at home, but right now she is living in Hawaii, (she will join us in WDW and then come home to RI with us to visit) so that seems like the perfect and not too expensive thing that we can do together. I am so glad this thread has kept going because I have not heard much about the SSR Spa and this is all VERY informative for FUTURE trips!!:thumbsup2 Joan

Joa, I think you need to go back and read the posts more carefully. Noo one liked or recommmended the manicure and pedicure.

I had a manicure and pedicure and thought both were great. The room isn't as relaxing as the massage or facial or those areas.

Actually Post #2 and #4 DID recommend the spa pedicure. And the negative posts #5 and #13 comments were about the room it is done in, not the pedicure itself. :) I am a very comprehensive reader. :) Joan

DH & I both went in May. I had the 30 min. facial & he had a 30 min. massage. I think he liked the massage. I thought the facial was just average. Also worth noting is they do not offer any DVC discounts on 30 min. treatments. They do or at least they did at the GF Spa when I was there in Jan. I much preferred the GF spa & facial over the one I received at SSR & not just because it was cheaper. GF spa is smaller, but I guess it depends on what you're looking for. The treatments offered seem to be basically the same. Also I got a discount at SSR spa on the Amala products. I think it was 5% or possibly 10%. Can't remember for sure but I know there was a discount.
