I have a co-worker that has decided to purchase into DVC and called the DVC friends line and was told that SSR is sold out :confused3 and the only points left are at the new AKL. Is this true or has anyone else heard this?

Also, are there any referral gifts for giving a referral to someone?

Thanks :hippie:

As of Tuesday night our guide told us that SSR was $104 pp with a $10 incentive, so I am assuming that it is still selling.

No way is SSR sold out.

It appears that they are currently selling the first of the 4 buildings in the Grandstand section. That still leaves 3 whole buildings to sell.

I think Congress Park, The Springs, The Paddock, and Carousel sections are all basically sold out.

I suspect what your friend was told is that the family and friends incentive is over with. That means the price increased, but it is NOT sold out.

I agree with Diane - I think either your friend either received incorrect info or misunderstood. The Friends and Family incentive is over, but SSR is NOT sold out. Probably will not be for quite a while yet.

Does DVC give anything for referral? We were reffered from friends, just wondering if they will get something? DVC was persistant in finding out exactly who referred us.

This is also my understanding and supposedly not be sold out till years end.

If your friend lives in a state that allows timeshare sales (check the DVC web site), they will get a reward for referring you, a $$ amount, NOT cash, to be taken in DD's, toward the mtc fee, toward an add on or they can donate it to a child's charity.

Sorry, but no one who lives in Michigan can get a referral bonus, it's against Michigan law. You can join the rest of us in saying, "Thanks<Michigan, for protecting us against ourselves>"

You got that right, Michigan (Granholm) is so busy spending money the don't have and protecting us with things like a new service tax they are forgeting to protect themselves from everyone and every business leaving the state. Will the last one out of Michigan please turn out the lights?

We cruised on the Disney Wonder and referred two different who just purchased into DVC. All we got was a thank you card. This is one of the few times it does not pay to live in Texas.

No Referral Bonus in Canada either!

Not even a thank you!

sorry...newbie question here. when you buy into SSR they choose a specific building for you? you say that congress park is sold out... does this mean that i would not be able to book it?

sorry for the dumb question. still trying to get my bearings in regards to the dvc. thanks. :scared:

The building you "own" in has nothing to do with what section of the resort you can stay in.

You own a percentage of a particular building for administrative and legal purposes only. It has no relation to reservations, etc.

I believe DVD cannot sell more shares than are currently available. So if Grandstand were to get delayed, and everything else at SSR was already sold, they'd have to suspend sales.

I'm not sure how AKL fits into this with pre-sales though. I believe you can't use your points until a certain time, but whether that agrees with amount available or not I don't know. Perhaps they balance them off against vacancy at SSR.

Us in NJ can get the bonus, can use me anytime.

I spoke with someone at DVC last week and was told they still had SSR available.
