SSR sleeping question - refurb

Planning a quick trip to the World for Halloween stuff during Labor Day. a 1BR SSR was all that was available. It is 5 adults and 1 17 year old (Old, Old, 23 YO daughter and her SO and 17 year old). Calling Member services to ask some questions, but two questions: (1) does anyone know the status of the refurb and how likely it is that the small bed will be in the room, and (2) any insight on the size of that bed if so? We may take an air mattress anyway but would like some insight. Thanks!!

All SSR 1 bedrooms sleep 5 people plus 1 infant under 2 in a pack n play. All rooms in service have been completed. They had the last 2 buildings closed and should be finishing those shortly. The small Murphy is smaller than a twin bed by a few inches.

Does that mean all SSR 1 br have 3 sleeping locations or just they allow 5 people if you bring an air mattress?

They all have 3 sleeping locations now. A queen size murphy bed, and a single murphy bed in the living room. A 1 bedroom allows 5 and no air mattress needed.

Our 16 year old son slept in one those small murphy beds and he was fine, it's definitely better than an air mattress.

If that's 6 people, that is over capacity for an SSR 1BR. Little confused by your count?

You may be right. But, I don't think it's possible to book an non-refurbished room now, I believe they are all out of the system.

Thanks all. I would like to not have to bring an air mattress if possible. I called DVC and they couldn’t tell me if they are only using refurbed rooms now. I hope this is right and all they are using now are refurbed. Appreciate all the insight.

All rooms currently occupied at SSR have been refurbished.

We recently had a refurbished 1BR and it did not sleep five. It did not have the pull down twin under the TV instead there was a small console table. We did have the new queen size murphy bed though. Any ideas why we didn’t have the pull down twin under the TV?

Could it be because we originally booked a studio and we were upgraded to the 1BR?

Sounds like you were actually in a refurbished studio, not a one bedroom. Did you have a kitchen with a full sized refrigerator, stove & dishwasher?

Yes, we had a full sized kitchen, table and chairs, couch (with pull down Murphy bed), washer and dryer and a separate bedroom.

My only guess would be. That you possibly were in a test room they did back in late 2018 or early 2019. They supposedly did a couple of sample rooms an then asked people who stayed in them for comments. I remember seeing pics of the studio. I cannot remember if I saw pics of a 1 bedroom.
