SSR Room request

Hi all, just getting over my jet lag after a fab stay at The World (got back sat am and didn't get to sleep till 4.30 this morn and had to be up for work at 7) While there we went to SSR where we are staying in Aug and the kind lady at reception put a note on our booking to request a downtown Disney view and also so we can walk to the village. I know this cant be guaranteed and I have never made a request before but we won't be checking in until teatime which may make it more difficult. Is there anything I cud do before we go, maybe fax or ring to see if this wud help, it is my and my dh 40th and dd 16th this year so wud like it to be special if poss!

Disney is always special. A Beja of downtown is magical. If they have already requested it you should be fine but no guaranties as they say. I suggest you make your self familiar with the SSR plan So when you check in you will be able to say yea or nay. Have a magical time I love B D s at WDW

Also you need to ask for a high view room to make sure you can see especially at night with the lights.

We asked when we checked in and it was fine.

I get the impression that quite a few US people dont turn up to much later anyway so hopefully they can accommodate your request. Also other people prefer to be nearer to the main pool and food court so DTD view is probably not a problem

I agree with that - Americans don't like to walk too far for facilities - like to be the main building. We stayed here in a studio - we requested DTD view, high floor - we got what we wanted in Congress Park next to the DTD footpath.

That's great thank you for all your info, never thought to ask for a higher level (ugg!), we love downtown disney, got there early one morning and got to try the yummy cornflake French toast at Wolfgangs, def be going back for that! What would be the best way to get in touch before we go to request the higher floor?

We too are going for my 40th which will be in October. DD was 16 last September.

I have requested a room near the food court and accesible to DTD via boat or foot....I think it's the Springs I can't remember now....

We requested Congress Park last year but we didn't get it. I was disappointed but I ended up LOVING our location in The Springs- we were so close to the main pool and all the restaurants etc. I'm sure you'll be fine wherever you end up.

I'm sure i will, just had a stay at ASM so we went to have a look and it looks brill, it's absolutely huge! Xxx
