Okay, tell me I'm missing something.

Last trip I swear SSR 2bdrm was 8 + one under 3 as the maximum occupancy.

It's listed as 8 on the points charts still.

But on the RAT, it says "sleeps up to 9". Is the refurbishment increasing occupancy? My word that would make me so happy!

DVC has permitted a ninth person (or fifth person in one bedroom villas) where there are only beds for eight (or four for one bedrooms) but they do not provide any beds/bedding for the extra person. You have to bring your own bed and sheets (plus a towel for the extra person). If they do add a murphy bed in the future, it probably won't update the occupancy for the villa until after at least most of the resort is renovated.

Okay, so just to clarify, I should be able to book my family (3 Disney kids, 6 Disney adults + 1 under 3) at SSR?

Yes, if you book through DVC. If you book through Disney Reservation Center, no. And you may need to bring your own airbed, sheets and a towel for the ninth person.

Perfect, thanks!

That's a lot of folks in an SSR 2 BR, they are not all that big.

It's actually not so bad. 5 of the people listed are my kids, the oldest of whom with be 12. DH and I have the two littles in the room with us, my sister is in the living room area with the 3 older ones (try and keep them apart, lol) and my MIL & FIL take the studio.

ETA: this will be our second trip with that many people in a DVC 2 bedroom.

You are giving MIL and FIL a room with two beds and putting four people on one bed in the living room (and only a queen at that)? I'd put sister in with MIL/FIL and put the three kids on the sleeper sofa in the living room if they can all sleep together.

So 2 in the 2nd BR and 8 in the 1 BR side? Good luck.

We've done this before.

It's the arrangement my sister chose, not me. She doesn't feel comfortable sharing a room with my in laws.

It really is fine with us. We are only in the rooms to sleep and that is it. And we drive down, maybe we'll bring a blow up bed and put it in our room for some of the kids.

I'm sure if they asked Grandma & Pap, they'd let them sleep in the studio portion but they latch on to my sister every time.
