SSR ressies

I know that everyone that had booked at AKL and being offered to switch over to SSR are getting up set cause it is what disney has to offer for the inconvience of the construction, but has anyone stopped to think about how those who booked SSR as their hotel for vacation feels about all these extra people being moved over? My sister and I take several trips a year to disney (we're seniors in college who love disney and have done the cp program before) and have stayed in all the hotels except for POP and are sort of upset with the new hotel situation. We're not only worried about all the extra people around (more crowds on the bus and at the pool), but also any grumpy attitudes that may come out of it. From how it sounds, no one that is going to be moved over is going to be very happy on their trip and it's a huge downer to be around unhappy people on vacation. We actually picked SSR for the vacation at the end of July (which we always pay out of pocket -without the cm discount cause we no longer get it- cause we don't want to buy into DVC)cause we know from experience that it's not too crowded, which is a nice break from the crowds at the parks. And it is a beautiful hotel, i know it's not the same as AKL but it is one of my top favs- i think it's more beautiful than GF. But this is just my opinion on the subject.

I have been thinking the same thing. We are staying at SSR July 11th-21st and now we will be swamped with AKL guests. I was hoping to get a good room location, but I have a feeling I will get left overs.

And what bothers me more is I am paying for a 1 bedroom and they are getting a deal like 120.00 for a 1 bedroom. I sure would have loved to pay 120.00 for a 1 bedroom at SSR.

I think we all should get that deal. I understand if they just moved them at the rate they paid for AKL, which would still be a lot less than a 1 bedroom. It just feels like I am getting the "shaft". I am paying for them to be there.

I feel the same - we have a 1br reserved for Aug 9th for a week. I am looking forward to the laid back quiet feel of SSR, but concerned now it may be overcrowded! But I'm not changing our ressies, and I'm going over early in the morning to check in - hope that makes a difference in room choices! Later in the day, you take what's leftover, and we're coming down the day before. I don't care what others paid, as in any given resort you've got folks paying a wide spectrum. I just want a nice vacation!

i actually have stayed there twice before so i can remember what area i want to stay in. so i am going to call SSR after 2pm the day before we check in and ask for a specific location for our room. i am also going to point out to them that because we are paying full price for a one bedroom, i am going to expect that they should accomidate our request pretty easily (i may also throw in the fact that i know that they are moving akl ressies over and giving them a huge discount for staying at the same place). this may sound like a little much, but i chose this hotel in the first place and i am wanting them to give me what i want since i am paying so much to stay there.
