SSR reservation questions

Hi everyone..

I know DVC-SSR owners can book SSR already and DVC members with other "Home's" can book starting Feb 4 right?
What about people calling thru CRO and paying cash??Can they book at SSR already? I would hope that DVC members would get to book before the non-DVC members but I read on the resorts forum a person who booked SSR for Dec.

That doesn't seem right to me but hey I'm a new DVC owner and maybe missed that part in all my reading I did over the last weekend. (I received my Members Documents Kit last Friday)

I hope I'm not stirring up any big debates but I like to know how valuable the 7-month window is for future reservations for other resorts then my SSR resort.

Cash reservations thru Disney are available for villas not yet (and/or expected to be) declared into Members Inventory.

If building one is sold out, as has been reported, then there should be little- if any- availability for May, 2004 for cash reservations- since there will be only that building open.

By August, the first four buildings are all supposed to be open- so there should be cash availability from that time forward until the resort is completely sold out and SSR owners begin using their points for non-DVC options (just like owners at all other DVC resorts).

Buildings 5-12 are supposed to begin opening (one per month) in January, 2005.

Ok. Not sure how non SSR owners are going to do when making reservations at the 7 month window or 2/4/04 (if that date works for them) if CRO has already sold some rooms for cash.

Do they limit how many rooms are given to CRO at each DVC resort? I'm thinking way to far into this but down the road when I want to book another DVC then my home resort I'm hoping that if there no availablity that its because "Home"resort owners are staying there and its not because they let the rooms go to CRO.

For all DVC resorts that are sold out (OKW, HH, BWV, VWL and BCV) the only means to get a cash reseration thru MS is from the 2-4% at each resort owned by Disney or from any points used be members for non-DVC options (Cruise, other Disney resorts, Concierge Collection, Adventure Collection). The points used for those options are converted into cash nites to pay for those options. Any villas unreserved by members at 60 days are also available to CRO for cash rental.

For SSR, only the villas declared into member inventory are available for point reservations- all other villas are available for cash reservations from Disney.

Availability at any DVC resort at 7 months for point reservations is completely dependent on what villas have not been reserved by owners at that resort. If owners at VWL have already reserved their resort for August , 2004- then there would be no availability for other owners. In reality, there has always been availability within 7 months for reservations.
