Just an FYI - I saw that there's a SSR resale on the link from this forum's sponsor, The Timeshare store. 135 pts at $78 a point. This seems a quite early to me, but one never knows what situations people can find themselves in.

Maybe there's another Dave Ramsey Total Money Makeover going on. Just read his book and it's pretty good. We're working on ridding our debt too, we're selling some "extras" to speed the process, but not our DVC!

There was an earlier post about the SSR resale. Several were questioning how someone could sell something that they didn't yet "own" (closing hasn't occured yet).

I can only assume that TTS has worked out some kind of a contract with the current "owner" which would transfer his deed over to the new buyer following the closing.

Just a guess.

We've closed on our add on already - I'm pretty sure - have all the paperwork. Plus they could have paid cash or could have been a cast member that was able to take advantage of the CM discount plus the buyback. At $78 a point you'd make about a 15 per point profit.

How did you close already? We purchased the first week it went on sale and they said we would not close until May.

Maybe it hasn't been complete - not sure, my husband keeps all the paperwork, but I know we've gotten several sets of papers mailed to us. As far as I know its a done deal, but I could be wrong.

We've already paid cash for ours and still won't close until May. I cant imagine Disney closing a sale with anyone until the property is ready.

Plus, the listing further supports our feeling that at least some of the folks over at TTS dont know what they are doing, or know but dont care. Jerry was very shadey when he handled (or didnt handle) our resale attempt. BUt that SSR listing says that the points become available in April 2004, but can be borrowed now....

:scratchin talk about false advertising:scratchin

I love Dave Ramsey. He has some great advice for financial matters.

What is his saying?

"live like nobody else so that you can live like nobody else"

Is that right?

Just an FYI about Dave Ramsey.

I live in Nashville where he is from. Take ALL endorsements with a grain of salt. Dave would sell anything for a buck!!! I find some of his advice to be flat out wrong (some of it is very good however. Just use some common sense.)

Someone has posted a month or so ago that a relative had decided to back out of their SSR deal with DVC but it was past the deadline and they could not cancel it. Perhaps this resale is theirs.

I think the very best advise that he has is to be debt free. Now that is common sense!
