SSR Refillable mugs

I am a shameful member, and did not even know that these exsisted our last two trips "home"!

Could someone please tell me where I can purchase the mugs, and then, where and what I can refill them with? And, since my DH is reading this over my sholder and , I mean what BEVERAGE can they be filled with.

I thought that you were supposed to purchase a mug for each trip. But then, I do remember reading on a TR that there was a Disney Resort Refillable Mug Club . . .

Everyone knows that the mug is good for the length of the trip and at the resort you bought it at. No longer, nowhere else.

We were at SSR just last month and the only mugs I could find that were refillable said "Epcot" on them. Did I miss something? They do have ones that have the name of the resort on them? If so I am so disappointed.

same thing happened to me when I stayed at SSR this past October. The only refillable mugs they had said Epcot on them. I did ask about it and I was told that they were out of SSR mugs.
Now, I wonder is SSR mugs ever existed ?? Has anyone ever seen them ?

Is this a new policy ? My in-laws were able to use their Wilderness Lodge mugs at SSR this past October and they never had an issue with it.

It's a policy certain DISers enforce under pain of eternal suffering and guilt trips. Me? I wanted to use my SSR-bought EPCOT mugs at EPCOT just to see if I could. I kept forgetting it though.

Supposedly they were having new SSR mugs designed and were using out the stock they had of EPCOT mugs in the meantime. You refill them at the self serve beverage/condiment/utensil stations. I really wonder how they'd catch you double dipping since no one's manning the place and the clerks are all too busy working the registers. It would be like snatching a napkin or a few ketchup packets when you're not eating there.

They probably rely more on people just forgetting to bring the mug or not wanting to lug it around. I brought mine to the Christmas Party to fill with hot chocolate. It made it a lot easier for me to handle with my disabled hands.

Oohhh! So, I can purchase one mug the next time I'm there (in June), use it amongst my six other family members, then use it again in October (even though I'm not staying on site), at ANY of the resorts, plus, since I own at SSR and have the extra years, I can use the same mug for the next 30 years! YAY!

That will be one of my BEST purchases EVER!

CM's and I had a debate about that. None of us could figure out where EPCOT even sells the mugs let alone lets you refill them. I kept forgetting mine so I never found out. Best I could hypothize was the Electric Umbrella, if they have a self-serve station.

I also picked up some Osborne Lights mugs while I was there. Took them to the Christmas Party later for hot chocolate refills. My purpose was just to have a mug that was easy for me to drink out of (with a straw). And the Osborne mugs had a top you could close, something those refillable mugs lack.

We did use it to refill for the day. You could buy a couple for a family, refill and use that to pour into other cups. Or if you're not too germophobic, you can always share.

As for reusing mugs on successive trips, as long as they haven't changed the design (something they do every year or two), I highly doubt anyone would know the difference. It's an honor system thing. And of course, you have to lug the things around. They're not exactly small.

When they are sold in the theme parks, they are sold as souvenier mugs and not refillable mugs. Only refillable mugs that I am aware of are the AK mug with the animal topper on the top. And you have to show your receipt for the rest of the day to get the refills. Only good that day.
