We are doing a 4 day non-park stay in August at SSR. We were at SSR last month, but didn't bother with the refillable mugs because we were at the parks every day. Since we are going to be spending plenty of time lounging by the pool on this trip, I am thinking the mugs might be a good purchase.

What beverages, if any, are available for the mugs at SSR other than soda and coffee? Any juices, by any chance?

I know they can be filled by a couple of the pools, but can they be filled in Artist's Palette as well?

Is it true that it is OK to fill mugs at other resorts now? We did do the mug thing years ago when you could only fill them at your resort, but I think I heard that has changed.

Thank you!

Only the juice that is in the soda vending machine. They might have fruit punch or apple juice, but not OJ. No milk, but you usually can get hot chocolate. And iced tea.

I found this on Deb Wills' site (and she usually has very current information):

"The mugs used to have the hotel logo on them however they seem to be changing to the Year of a Million Dreams mugs. Also, a sign states that the mugs are for use at that hotel for the duration of your visit."

She also has the pool bar and Artist's Palette listed as the sites to get refills.

We used the refillable mugs for years and years when we were staying in the resort hotels. However, since buying DVC... we just don't find them necessary, cost effective, or convenient since we have a refridgerator stocked with snacks and drinks. YMMV.

We just got back and bought refillable mugs and I was annoyed to see them have the same generic YOMD design as last year's mugs. :headache:

IMHO - if they are going to hold onto the "duration of your visit only" rule then they at least need to change the design annually. If we decided to buy them again and remain "legal" on our June trip - we'll have 11 of those generic (and kinda ugly) mugs.

I actually noticed when I was visiting the POP that the signs did not say only at this hotel. It was a different sign than last year. I don't recall seeing any sign at SSR at all.

I even want to say it didn't even mention length of stay but it might have. I just know it didn't say only at your hotel because I was kicking myself for not bringing my mug when I went over there.

Last summer when we visited, I specifically asked if this new mug could be used at another resort and was told "yes". I asked this during check-in at both SSR and at OKW, as well as when we refilled the mugs. Do not know about this summer yet.
