I'm hoping someone can help me with some info. We have never stayed
at SSR. We did an add-on there in 2005 and have always stayed at BCV and used our SSR points for DL, VB & DCL. I am now looking to book for the summer. Kids are now older so being close to DTD would be a nice change. I know nothing about SSR. Are there any websites that map out where all villas are? Why are the 3 bedroom Treehouse Villas the same point value as the 2 bedroom? Are they in a bad location? Is there a better area to request when booking? Appreciate all the info anyone can give.

Thanks,
Wendy

Hello! I was there in April. A couple of tips:

Congress Park is a nice section; ask for a view of Downtown Disney. The lights are pretty cool at night. The path to DTD is right there.

If you need to be close to main pool/lobby/rest, ask for The Springs section.

The resort is huge. Nice, but huge. I'm not familiar with the treehouses yet, so I can't help you there.

If you have a car -that's an extra bonus; less walking:thumbsup2

Don't get me wrong; the resort can be done without a car, but it's a nice option.

Sorry I can't be of more help on your other questions.

This is a link to the SSR Owners/ Lovers thread, which may answer more of your questions. There are some maps there of the resort. Not sure if there were any of the treehouse villas, and I have not stayed there either. I think the biggest complaint was the limited access/ transportation there - but again, really not sure.

If you want to be by the main pool and food request the springs section - we stayed in that section and really enjoyed it (would not have been happy in the other sections)...we also walked to downtown disney - it was not that far. We knew we wanted to be by the main pool-it's the nicest pool, but everyone has their favorites. The treehouses are nice, but you have to take a bus - to get to the bus that takes you to the parks. Not an issue for some, but it is for others.

We stayed in the Grandstand section. It was a little further away from the main building (maybe a 5 minute walk) , but as for the bus it was great. The Grandstand section is the first to be picked up and the first to be dropped off. The pool in this section was nice.

We also walked to DTD from here and it didn't take long to get to the DTD path.
