SSR Question first time stay

Hi all:

We are newly minted DVC members and are planning out first trip. We're booked at Saratoga Springs in October for a dedicated 2 bedroom. We were wondering if you could recommend which building would be best to request given that we are looking to be close to the main pool and the boat launch to DD.

Welcome to the boards and to DVC!

If you are looking for something close to the main pool and the boat launch then I would request the Springs. The next choice I would go with would be Grandstand. We also like being close to the main pool and the restaurant so we always request The Springs.

we stayed in The Springs and had a very short walk to the pool and little bit longer to the boat, not much further though.

I will be staying at SSR for the first time in June. Is one section quieter than another?? I will have a car this trip - so being close to the action isn't required.

We also are staying at SSR in Oct in a 2 bedroom. SSR is so big that this thread is helpful. Thanks for the responses.
Which section is closer to Downtown Disney? And... is that section far from the restaurants and pool?

Congress Park is a short walk to DTD, and my room in this section was right by a quiet pool, not the main pool. It's a bit of a hike to main pool I'd say, but bell services would come and pick us up and drive us places fora tip.

If you don't care about being close to the main pool, food, or DTD, then request the Paddock section. We stayed there last year and loved it. We had a quiet pool right next to our building, which also made the bus stop convenient. When the new pool is built in that section next year, it's going to become more popular. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

We stayed in the Paddock Section but the building right on the main road across from Congress Park. It was great! Quiet, right across from the bus stop, 5 minute walk to the main building and we could easily walked to DTD. We'd definitely request this building again. Only problem I saw with the Springs was sometimes (even though it wasn't a busy season), the buses were full by the time we got to that stop so a lot of times the people there had to wait for the next bus.

The Springs is the most central location in my opinion. I would go with that!

SSR is our home resort and we've stayed in the Paddock - it's very quiet and the bus stop is convenient.

My favorite place was Congress Park for the DTD view BUT we were put in the Grandstand section with a treehouse/golf view our last stay there and we LOVED getting on the bus first and getting off first at night!
