SSR purchase through Disney and 1st year's dues

Hi all,

My wife and I just recently bought into SSR (Aug. use year) and I am almost positive our guide told us when we commited to buy that we would receive all the 2006 use year points and didn't have to start paying dues until our 2007 use year started in August. However, in today's mail there was a statement from DVC listing charges for prorated dues starting in March 2007, when our paperwork went through.

I will look over our contract and call MS tomorrow to find out more, but I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience or could shed some light on this. At this point I'm a little confused!

Dues are based on calendar year, not use year. It is possible you are only paying dues on your 2007 points, but they are still payable now, just prorated.

Since you just bought through Disney your 2007 MF are prorated from the month you bought into DVC. As Chuck S said maintenence fees are for a calendar year not when your UY is. Everyone pays in Jan. for the year regardless of your UY.
