We're staying at SSR June 1-8; I have done some research online and I have come across several negative post about the main pool. Several people have written that the main pool is way too crowded to swim in or to go down the slide. They also note that SSR doesn't have enough pools for the size of the resort. I was wondering, has anyone been to the main pool around the time I'm going and did you experience that the pool was too crowded? I know pools can get busy, but the post made it sound like you could only stand in the water.

You should be fine, there are still a lot of schools in session in the US the first part of June...though most of the Southern US will be out. Traffic really picks up the second week of June.

I haven't been there in June, but I have been there in Jan and March (during spring break) and we never had a problem with the pool being too crowded. I really like the pool and the slide at SSR. Sometimes we even hop over there if we are staying somewhere else. I wouldn't worry! Enjoy your trip :)

Here's DS looking out over the pool last summer, mid-day, on a weekend. We never had any trouble getting pool chairs.

We were at SSR last October. We did visit 2 different pools.
Not a problem. Relax. Enjoy. :cool1:

We have stayed at SSR during 4th of July and Columbus Day weekend. The pool does get a little more crowded but it is no big deal, still plenty of room to play. We've never had a problem finding a lounge chair.

Enjoy your trip!!

Thanks so much for the information! I'm truly looking forward to SSR. It sounds like a wonderful resort. Well, any resort is wonderful when your at Disney.

Thanks again!!

Hey Starbox

I sat in the same chair and drank a frozen margarita last month. Enjoyed the same view...but less people in the pool. ;)

Yup, those particular chairs have the added benefit of proximity to the pool bar :rotfl:
