I voted for the last option.

Honestly, where we stay depends on a number of things:

If we go in February, for our anniversary, we like OKW for the tropical ambience. Tropical ambience in February is a nice thing for lovebirds from Michigan!

In May, we like BCV for SAB and the proximity to Epcot for the Flower and Garden Festival. :rose:

In the hot Summer months, we like SSR, because we don't go into the parks as much. It's great having DD/PI/DQ just a casual stroll away. :drinking1

We'd like to try and get VWL for when we finally go down around Christmas. (Fat chance, I know!) :rotfl:

Why: As timeshares go -- BWV offers the shortest walking distance to the Dolphin/Swan/Yacht Club conference facilities.

We own DVC because our employer switched from IBM products to Microsoft products and stopped paying for our annual trek to IBM's Lotusphere conference.

When the employer paid, we stayed at the Yacht Club and loved it (my personal favorite among the Disney resort collection). But the first year the employer began backing off (offering to pay for "All Star Sports" and no better) -- we started using exchanges into BWV for our stay ... and ultimately purchased DVC at SSR for the same purpose.

The conference has been running for 13 years (or 14?) and we've attended 11 (or 12?) of the events. If/when the conference should end ... we'll try out the other resorts for "fun visits" but will likely sell shortly after.

I am impressed, it really shows that SSR owners do like SSR and want to stay at SSR.

I know right now it shows more want to try the other resorts but who coming into DVC doesn't??

So maybe the owners at small resorts don't have as much to worry about as they did a year ago because this poll shows a pretty large difference since then.

I was unable to vote because none of the statements are true for us. We stay at all of the different resorts depending on time of year, what we plan to do mostly on that vacation (Magic Kingdom--VWL, Epcot & MGM--BCV or BWV, Relax in quiet--OKW or SSR, Summertime--BCV for SAB) We also like OKW for Easter (just has become tradition).

We plan a resort and if it's not available, we take whatever is. We usually plan 6 months or so in advance, so the booking window is not important to us. We have pretty much spread ourselves around equally at this point. We've stayed at OKW 3 times, BCV 2 times, SSR 2 times, and VWL 2 times. We have yet to stay at BWV.

I think we're definitely always going to want to mix it up. I've always loved staying at various WDW hotels, and now I think we'll like to stay at various DVC resorts.

We got married on the Boardwalk, though, so we're always going to be partial to BWV (which is what I voted for in this poll). We just couldn't say no to the lower cost and more years, which is why we bought SSR. That said, we did tour SSR and think it was beautiful, and we'll be trying it out in May. And I'm sure we will stay there many more times! But we will often try to switch into BWV at 7 months.

My DH and I took the advice of this board seriously. We bought where we wanted to stay. This doesn't mean we'll never trade out, but we'll always be happy with SSR. SSR is perfect for a couple with no kids who love being walking distance from DD. As for the other DVC resorts, we'd trade into VWL or BCV depending on the trip. But you'll never catch us at BWV, the clown pool creeps us both out, and OKW just doesn't appeal, the theme just isn't for us.

We love the location, theming, and quietness of SSR. And can't wait to see it again.

You know, OKW doesn't appeal to us either, and I wonder if it's because I'm from Florida/Georgia, so it seems like OKW doesn't really have a theme. Maybe it's the same feeling some northeasterners have about SSR.

I voted that we would more than likely try out all of the DVC resorts but would always be happy staying at SSR. We are DVC newbies just purchased last June and already we (or me) have made 4 trips home to our SSR. My dh and I have no children and love the feel and atmosphere of this resort. The cast members have gone out of their way to help us with any request we have had. The only thing that we did not like was the fact that SSR did not have a full service dining room nor did they have room service. Now that the dining room is on its way we are very happy. Now if we could just get room service hmmmm. The spa is a big plus as well as the gym. :thumbsup2 The 1 bedrooms are so wonderful and spacious so now we are looking forward to planning a trip and staying in the GV.

I voted to try them all and then SSR, but the truth is that I would rather book one of the epcot area hotels.
We love epcot and the dinning possibilities it offers. The place where I use to work did an annual conference in either the Dolphin or Beach Club Inn and we (my husband and I) fall in love we the ability to just walk or take a nice and relaxing boat ride to the international gateway and have dinner at a different country every night, have a glass of wine or beer and even catch illuminations.
I actually ended up doing an add-on to Boardwalk just to make sure I could be able to book BW during the F&W one of these years. I was going to go this year in october, but then I found out I was pregnant during my last visit to SSR and decided to move that trip to may (Flower and garden).
Now that I will have two little ones - my dauther is 2 - I guess I will also like to try WL on a regular basis so that we have access to MK.
On SSR, my only complain is that it is so large that makes it complicated when you have little ones. If you end up in the paddocks, which will most likely be our situation most of the times because we drive to Orlando and usually get there at night, then we end up so far from the main pool and restaurants, not to mention the boat dock to DD, that we rather take the car and go somewhere else than to walk all the way over there back and forth or take the buses (with kids and strollers, diaper bags, etc).
I would like to try OKW only when I need a 2 bedroom if going with extended family. It discourages me to know that some buildings don't have elevators (again, the kids and stroller situation).
I would also like to try Vero Beach since its only 2 hours away from where I live. Don't think we will be going to HH any time soon.

We LOVE BWV :thumbsup2 . We have yet to stay at any other DVC resort. The main things we love about BWV is its location (close to my favorite park: EPCOT!), the ESPN Club (DH.. :confused3 ), and how wonderful everything is during the Christmas season. We have contracts at both SSR & BWV. I'm sure we will get around to seeing all of the DVC resorts...eventually :teeth: .

I am happy to Stay at SSR. Only other resort I am interested in stayin at is BCV, and maybe VWL but I am not keen on the current room decor at VWL.

We only bought into DVC late last year and will be using our points for a family vacation at BWV this August. We have 3 boys - 9, 7, and 4 - and for us, each of the resorts offers something different and it's like a new vacation for the boys, and to be honest, for me and DH. So, I'd like to try all of the DVC locations, but then I think once my boys are older, we'll settle into SSR.

Ok, I'm the odd ball. We will use our SSR points mainly at HHI!! We find HHI very relaxing and enjoy spending 5 nights there in the summer. For onsite, We feel in love with VWL and that is where my husband wants to stay everytime we go to WDW so we did an add-on there. We will use the SSR points to stay at Hilton Head or to add weekends on to our VWL trips. (BTW, I plan on buying a HHI addon the first time I can't get the reservation I want.)

I want to try all of the resorts but SSR is my home and I'm happy to stay there. Been to HHI and am going to OKW in May. I'll visit home while I'm there!

I voted Mostly SSR. I've toured all the other WDW DVC resorts and the only others that appeal to me are VWL and OKW. So maybe we'll try those someday. BCV and BWV just aren't my cup of tea, I don't have the desire to stay at either of those.

I voted for SSR most of the time. We are very happy with the resort. The grounds are beautiful, the pool is great, love AP, beautiful decor and of course the spa! We were planning a trip to BCV but changed our minds and booked our next two stays at SSR. We love it there!! Since we've become DVC members, we feel there is no need to do the parks commando style. Although they are still quite young, DD and I will enjoy using the spa while DS and DH golf. That is what we feel makes it a complete vacation resort. It doesn't have to be about the parks each and every minute of the day. We would like to try VB in the next few years, but we don't feel the need or desire to stay at other DVC properties.

The beauty of the program, however, is the ability to stay at the other resorts if you so choose!

I think for us it turns out that we've used most of our points at BWV so far. BUT, after this upcoming trip in May we will have stayed at SSR most often.

We really would like to try them all out. We've stayed at:
BWV - studio
BWV - 1BR
BCV - 2BR
SSR - studio (twice)

Upcoming -- SSR 2BR

We took our first trip as DVC members to OKW. We liked the tropical theme. We will probably stay at SSR after we try the other resorts. Why? We live less than 2 hours from Saratoga Springs, NY so when we want to get away from our real home the scenery needs to be different for us. :sunny:
