I second
@pzw90's suggestion of
dvcforless.com - an incredible resource to help you evaluate how good a deal is. There are also some pretty good calculators on
dvcrofr.com that help you calculate good offer prices based on deals from the ROFR thread. And, available points - loaded, stripped, etc. - all factor in to how good the deal is. Sometimes that gets negotiated through who is paying which years worth of dues (e.g., you might be able to get a seller to pay 2025 and 2026 dues on a contract that has no points or very little points available until 2026).
That said, a lot of us on this board (myself included) get rather obsessed with finding the most incredible deal. And, if you're not in a rush and willing to wait, you can and will find one. But, there is also something to be said for buying what you want when it comes along. A lot of times what distinguishes a great deal from an average one is $10/point or less, which, when you spread it over the life of the contract is not all that much in the grand scheme of things.
I will also note that some of the best deals tend to be had through brokers other than the site sponsor (although I will say, contrary to my expectations, I saw a couple of stripped BLT ones posted this morning that are getting 5 stars on
dvcforless.com and tempted me for just a few seconds - don't think I've ever seen deals like that coming from the site sponsor).
