I was fortunate enough to take a quick, solo trip to check out "our new digs"!! lol
No ME bus this time, a Mears yellow bus...didnt mind as I have done ME before, but felt badly for first timers as the ME bus really gets you excited and adds that magical touch to the excitement of arriving at WDW....did get one on the way back.
At check in I am told my room is ready to go...at 12:30 p.m. this is wonderful! But wait....systems crash! So now I have to wait 1-2 hrs/or until they are up again! I am just happy to be there, so no biggie, things happen! After chatting with a "Welcome Home" CM..(thats what I called her) she comes back to me with a one time use key card for my room!!! Love her! She tells me I have an hour to use it and its only good for one use!
Just goes to show you....you may receive "magic" if you dont complain like many others were!
So off to my room....never wrote down the room #....so after my celebratory cocktail at the Grandstand pool bar....I forget my room # and have to call back which just confused everyone!! lol
Received my room request!!! Grandstand, top floor....awesome view of the pool!!
I am happy...nice studio at the end of the floor!
#8432, room in great shape except for some stains on the night table ...looked like huge water marks of some kind.
**Linens Change** I was fortunate enough to be here when they did the change....1st night old stuff...wow...not impressed...next night...can totally tell the differance!!! Especially the towels!!**
**Housekeeping** One minor issue....first morning I wake up, notice one of the pillowcases ha blood on it from a previous guest. A mousekeeper should have thrown it away after it slipped through the wash, but I guess thought it could be used again
I kindly called Housekeeping..was pleasant...just wanted to let them know the situation....how can they improve if we dont bring these type of incidents to their attention????? Supervisor apologized etc....
When I returned later in the day....a gift basket a wonderful note apologizing!!! Two glass DVC Member coffee mugs, assorted snacks and coffee!!! Impressed!
The Cm's at registration were all great...were very welcoming every time I had a question or needed something...called me by name...was extremely happy we purchased here!!!
**Transportation** Never had any issues....I really think its a luck thing here...although I only used the bus service a few times. Did the walk to DTD from Grandstand! Not on the way back though, bought to much stuff!! lol
OH.......one more thing!!!!
I encountered MANY lost guests at SSR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One morning at AP.... I saw guests with refillable mugs for: CBR, BC, POR, GF!!!
Love SSR....now I know why so many love it!!!!
