I know that this probably has been asked before, but I can't find the thread on it...:surfweb: We will be staying at SSR in Feb., and I would like to stay as close to DTD as possible. On our last trip we visited DTD almost daily (Disney Visa Card discount was awesome). Which area is closest to the bridge or the boat launch? Room number closest to the bridge or boat launch? What about the distance to the bus stop? I know I am asking for the best of both (all) worlds, but...:cloud9: We love the Grandstand area (81XX) due to the fact that we were the first bus stop & the bus stop was literally right outside our door:yay: ! Any advice it GREATLY appreciated:flower3:

I posted the message above, but I am wondering if I made a good decision?? We will be home "SSR" very soon!!:woohoo: I have requested Congress Park with a DTD view, and I also gave the set of room numbers. I am hoping we can get a room close to the bus stop, too.:cloud9: How far is the walk from Congress Park to DTD? I know during our last trip, we stayed in the Grandstand area and LOVED  it.

you can get to DTD in around 7 to 10 minutes.

but to get to the other side - west side - around 20 to 30 minutes.

of course this was before they opened up PI. so it should be alot less now (since you don't have to walk around PI)

Distance from the middle of Congress Park to DTD Marketplace (specifically where the Days of Christmas store is) is .35 miles. Just over 1/4 mile at normal walking speed is 5-7 minutes.

If you're at the Grandstand and walk via West Side, you have to go 1.1 miles to the princess entrance of the World of Disney store. (1.25 miles to the Days of Christmas store.)

The ferry dock is roughly .4 miles to the center of Congress Park. (Longer and more confusing if you take the tennis/golf course parking lot route.)

If you plan on shopping a lot at Marketplace you'll love Congress Park. If you find yourself at West Side, and/or staying in Grandstand/Springs, that West Side route is a shortcut.

Call MS tomorrow and put in this request:

You want to request Congress Park with DTD View would be best. Request the 1101-1436 Building. This is the closest building for walking to DTD and real close to a bus stop as well.

The bus stop is just across the parking lot, just about 50 yards from the building.

There is a walking path to DTD that will take you about 7-10 mins to get to as well. Very easy, nice views and convenient. Best place to stay in SSR as far as I am concerned.

We stayed there 4th of July and New years and requested this and we got room 1101 once and room 1247 the next time.

You cannot go wrong in this building I gaurantee it!!!!

I agree with the above poster. We stayed in this bldg.(1106). AWESOME.
Loved the walkway to DTD and made it several times a day. So convenient
and the view from the room is beautiful. Enjoy! :goodvibes

Thanks! I am so excited!!:yay: You have made me now feel comfortable with my decision!! :cloud9:

db,

I am sure you have been asked before.........where was that picture taken with Mickey, Tigger, Goofey, Pooh and Donald? How and wher do you get all 5 of them in a photo opp with 12 or so of your closest friends and family?

Thanks

We were very lucky to have a private character meeting after the 3PM parade - while at WDW last May.:dance3:
