My family of 6 will be staying 4 nights in a Preferred 2BR at SSR for the first time this July. Unlike our other trips, we are not going to the parks but are focused on relaxing by the pool, trying some of the other activities (surrey bikes, shuffleboard, etc.), and spending the evenings at Disney Springs.

Which area would you SSR experts recommend?

I am not sure if it's better to be close to the walk walk to Disney Springs or to Carriage House. I am guessing having the convenience of the amenities of the Carriage House close by is better, but am interested in any advice.

Thanks!

If you stay in the Springs area, you are between the High Rock Springs pool next to Artists Palette and the Paddock pool with counter service poolside dining. Congress Park is a more sedate pool, but a quicker walk to Disney Springs.

I'd go with the Springs if you're going to spend more time at the resort. As you noted the pool will be right there and you have easy access to the main building for snacks and things at the shop. You can always take the boat over to DS.

Depends on what's more important to you. Being close to the main pool and food or being close to DS and maybe a view of DS beyond the lake.

Been in both. Springs is best if you want to be close to main building, bus stops and main pool. Congress park is best for a more quiet relaxing experience, it has a smaller quiet pool, and closeness to Disney Springs relative shorwalk now) . The Springs and main building is closer to the boat landing that goes to Disney Springs
