We are staying at SSR in a studio very soon for just 2 nights. It's our first time. Would like to be close to main building/buses as doing heavy parks. What section(s) should we request? Thank you!

There are 5 bus stops in Saratoga Springs and every bus stops at each of them. Don't have to walk far from any building.

Staying in The Grandstand probably improves odds of getting a seat since it's the first stop for arriving buses.

The Springs is closest area to the Carriage House and main pool, but it's the last bus stop.

Congress Park is the shortest walk to Disney Springs.

Thank you, which is the nicest of your choices, in your opinion? Is the carriage house, registration...?

SSR is our home resort. We like the Grandstand area - specifically either bldg 8101-8436 (closest to the bus stop) or 8501-8836 (closer to walk up to the Carriage House). The bus loop takes a long time but with Grandstand being the first stop you almost always get a seat and when you return you're the first stop to get off (win-win). The walk up to the Carriage House from either of these buildings is very quick.

The bus loop is so long that last January on our departure day I left MK ahead of DH & DS as they wanted one more ride on Space Mtn. It was raining & the park wasn't super crowded & we had a FP so they figured they had time to squeeze it in. But I was worried about getting back to the resort to get our luggage out of bell services in time for the DME pickup so I left them & went back. I stayed on my bus & rode it all the way up to the front as it was raining (The Springs is the last stop). DH & DS must have caught the very next bus but they got off at our old Grandstand stop & walked up to the front and they actually got there before our luggage was pulled, only a few minutes after I got there!!

Hi,Thanks for the post! How was food and wine?? Going soon for first time!

F&W was fun - we enjoy it a lot & will probably go again next fall for a few nights if we can slip it in - that will make 3 years in a row for us. We went in Nov. last year & Sept. this year. In Nov. when we went we found that all of the festival pins were already sold out so we were glad this year we went earlier & were able to catch some of those things. We had initially planned to just go down for 4 nights like we did last year then at the last minute we added a 5th night and we were really glad we did that. So now we're talking about what to do next year (4 vs 5 nights). We've been in borrowing mode since our Aulani trip so at some point we need to think about laying low & trying to dig out of the hole a little bit...which is why for the foreseeable future we'll just be staying at SSR std., AKV std. or OKW to save on points. And why we may decide to only do 4 nights rather than 5. I'll have to see what the airfare costs look like. If it's higher than we'd like to pay then it's worth it to go for the 5th night to get the value out of the cost.

I hope you have fun at F&W - and that you like SSR OK. As my DH says it's not an exciting resort but it's nice and has pretty grounds and the points are reasonable so it works fine for us. We like to resort hop from trip to trip but we spend most of our time in the parks so not a biggie for us to be there 2 trips in a row...

We are resort hoping big time this time. So, just my husband and I for two nights at SSR to start the trip, then two nights off campus with a car, (couldn't get anything at all, even concierge, using points!). Then our family arrives for 8 nights. Two at BWV since it's the tail end of F & W then AKV, our home resort. We haven't used many DVC points since meeting you in Aulani :)

We have been going at least 3x a year since our Aulani trip - once we buy APs we like to try to maximize them. But we only own 250 points so going 3x a year is a real stretch....
HAVE FUN!!!

We prefer Congress Park as we like the short walk to Disney Springs. There is now an internal bus that stops at each bus stop, so you do not have to walk to the Carriage House.
